1.5 coils

What is the benifit of 1.5 coils , 1 and a half coils. Is this just for look ? Is it for more weight in the front or to help run the machine on lower volts. I assume the half coil has 10 wraps but its just a half coil exactly. Anyone knows about machines and coils please help.

So i guess there there for look and not worth buying instead of normal coils. I mean no one knows anything about them so i guess so

I personally never heard of 1.5 coils before...other than in rotaries where sometimes mm are referred to coils as in 1.5, 2.0 and 3.5. I only know coils to be of 8-10-even 12 wraps, so I have no idea what machine this is but interested in finding out. I personally use Borgs and love them...

I believe FK irons was the first to sell them even tho some sell them now. They are just a front coil and then a half coil in the back. I wanted to see whats good about them but its just for looks is what fowler told me. May help the machine to run on low volts but with right tuning any machine can run low.

Wow still nothing. I guess no one knows shit about coils and machines here.

It shifts the weight forward, makes the machine lighter and it runs at lower voltage.

worldawesome, folks around here know all about half coils, they are just too busy tattooing to answer technical questions on an open forum... you know? Half coils arent all that new...

Well gabe i think not. If you knew anything you could have just answered the question instead of explaining how everyone is busy. Im asking people who come to this forum not people who are busy and dont come here. Yes it is a open forum but who cares, there is allot of other info on forums more detailed or important compared to a coil and a half. Its not rocket science, I spoke to a few builders about them including gaston. I never said they were a new thing either i was just looking to speak to people who make them or know about 1 and a half coils. Im not scared to speak about shit a non tattooer knows nothing about or could care less about. 2011 shit is already out, like i said it is not rocket science and secrets are no more.
