14 tattoos later why now?

I just got 2 tattoos it will be my 14th. They all are donr professionally. I have all black and gray tattoos. I do however have a colored tattoo on my left lower calf and decided i wanted to get 1 more color tattoo on my right lower calf to kinda match it up. Well it has been sore for a couple days I got the tattoo sat night and its now tue night... i never had a problem with tattoos i actually got another tattoo the same night and that 1 is perfect.. This one is a celtic shamrock pretty thick but not big....it hurts pretty damn bad when i walk or stand on it.... i do work construction and keep socks and boots on all day... I change my socks if they are damp... but I havent been putting A&D at work MON AND TUE so far.. (because my hands are really dirty)... i dunno if its infected ot what truthfully i wouldnt have thought anything of it untill my mother said damn that looks infected becuase its red around the edges.. she dosen't know shit... but it made me think because the pain and what not... any advise... dont really have time to go to the er.. but i will if it gets worse... and Im takin my cousin to get a tatt thursday and will me see my artist....

go back to your artist, they should be able to tell you what the deal is... it's very difficult to diagnose problems without ever seeing it in person. Theres a couple of things it could be. 1. It could be that the constant rubbing of your socks and boots has just irritated it making it harder to heal as the skin is constantly being abrated. 2. You may be having an adverse reaction to the ink. 3. It could be infected from a crappy environment (i usually tell my clients that work construction to apply a thin layer of A&D then cover it with saran before going to work, this will help keep it from coming in contact with too much junk in the air. Don't rush off to the ER just yet, get the advice of your artist, if the discomfort and redness have not gone down in a few days, go to your doctor, he'll probably put you on a broad spectrum anti-biotic which will help and have no adverse affects on your tattoo. It'll save you a ton of money in ER bills.

Thanx yea ima paramedic so i dont rush off to the er for nething but when sum1 says that looks infected u think damn is it... lol im gunna give it a day or 2 and see it feels better today... i think if it was infected id know it...the seran wrap lol i always wrap my tatts when i go out an do ruff work... bu i said fuck it this time. but i think its just the boots ... WELL IF I DIE ITS FOR MY HERITAGE GO IRISH!!!!

if you have something that rubs up against a fresh tattoo day in and day out it will take much longer to heal and frankly be a pain in the ass while doing so... my lower stomach was the same way with my underwear and jeans... now the fucker's all scarred up and looks like hell, i'll have to get it re-done.

the ink in the middle where he did it kinda thick came out and its just a wound its only a little but damn im gunna have to get the ink re done i think... i think that i mihgt be rejecting the bright green ink as well as haveing the boot rub it all day ... but sometimes it hurts bad and some times not at all.... i dunno im goin tonight to the tattoo guy...
