I am currently 17 years old. I have been reading about how boys should not get a tattoo when they are 16 b/c they are too immature. I am a 17 year old girl. I have known that I have wanted a tattoo for a very long time and I have been looking for one that wont look trashy when I am older and I know that this is the one that I can live with for the rest of my life. I know that I should wait until I am 18, but it is really hard to wait when you have known exactly what you want for a very long time. Would a tattoo artist in Ohio tattoo me??
17 year old tattoos?

Sure we can!*
(* as long as you have parental consent) See, we cannot tattoo anyone under the age of 18 without their parent's permission. If your family doesnt quite agree with what you want to do just yet, you might want to wait until you're of legal age.
I know it can be hard to wait but trust me, there is plenty of time in your life for tattoos and even more for regrets. I'm only 22 and i'm already having one lasered off. Give it some time.
Wait till your 18 cause very few good artists have to tattoo underage kids and you have read all the threads. Your smart enough to know the answer! Be patient. Columbus has some awesome artists, make sure you do your homework and get a great tattoo and not an average one!
Why do I get this wierd feeling we are looking at a butterfly tribal tramp stamp here...
A butterfly tribal tramp stamp? are you reffering to the tattoo that I want to get. If you are, your wrong. I actually am in love with stars and I want a star on my lower back with swirls spanning out of the side. Very simple and neat and in a place that I can cover if necessary.
Thanks for the imput everybody!
Ah, stars.... Why stars just out of curiousity? What is it that you would like to say about yourself with the stars?
And why a star tramp stamp? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but have you thought about any other possible areas on your body where the stars might have more impact?

Awwwwww..what the hell, go trashy little mama, go REAL trashy. Who really cares?
A star represents my mother. She always told me that I was the only star in her life. She died when I was 5. Ever since, stars have always been in my life. They always stuck with me and this is a way to remember my mother. I have another question. I do not live with my father anymore. I actually live with my "godparent" (unfortunatly). We he be able to consent for my tattoo?
Hey Coopie...I'm TAz....I think ya have some cool ideas...mostly because they have a real and important meaning....you sound as if you have thought things out and I commend you for that....If I were you I would wait just a few short months til you are 18 but for real you are so close it doesn't matter ...good tattooing kiddo and let us see a pic when ya get it...welcome to the TRIBE!!!...TAz
Hi Coopie!
Well, I'll take a slightly different approach than Taz. Wait the few months till you're 18. You can spend that time really refining your design and making it that much more awesome. THEN, on your 18th b-day, go get your tattoo as the first thing you do as a legal adult. This way, not only will you be getting a memory of your mom tatted on you, but it's like she could still be with you on that very special day.
Just my take on the subject though.
:o)

I think stars in this case would be much more lovely in a visible place like on the back of shoulder or on bicep... C'mon guys... stars, Mom, there's gotta be somethng really cool here... think... think...
OK..NOTHING TRASHY if it has to do with a mama!
How about a sacred heart with an endless burning flame coming out top and the "star" in the middle?
Maybe your shoulder blade on left side behind your heart.
