Doin the work, this time..
Kinda scary that you are the artist and dun know what to do....
Yeah ,I thought that would be how it was read.. Wrong topic for this forum I guess . Was hoping to glean some insights from others, not how to's
Hey joelite...seein as how it must be done in 3 days I would go balls out on the linework then shade.....Its gonna hurt like hell after the first day but hey...if the client just has to get it done in that amount of time...tough it out!!!...And yer mitts are gonna be howlin at ya too!!...Years ago I did a full back in 37 hours with breaks only for potty and food and COFFEE!!!...IT SUCKED!!! Man I couldn't do that now to save my life...but then again I am old and wore out!! ( shut up Al and Paleo John...I know what you were gonna say!) Anyway...good luck and good tattooing my friend....TAz
Taz, Taz, Taz, I'm shocked that you would be worried about ME picking on your age? That would be insensitive. Question before I leave. How long now have you been using Depends for wipes?
I knew it! I knew It111 I knew you just couldn't leave that one alone!!! DAMMITTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Taz only uses Depends when he's at the casino and he just knows that slot will cash out at any moment!
YOU BASTARDS!!!! DAMMITTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joelite, I did a full black and gray back piece on a guy at a convention in 16 hours over two consecutive days using a 15 mag. From my experience I would recommend dropping in your outline and shading the lower portion till complete and working your way up. Most people have the worst time with the lower back during a back piece so it would make sense to get that out of the way first as it will most likely hurt more each consecutive day. Use the largest mag that the job will allow and that you are comfortable working with so you can cover ground more quickly. Pray that your client can find his or her happy place and hang in for the duration. Be sure to post pictures for all to see. Good luck, Larry Brogan www.tattoocityskinart.com
Thanks guys, think I might be able to get out of doing the lower back on this piece, so the top 2/3 back should be manageable. Putting aside 8 hrs a day- thats my concentration limit at the stretch, and pobly be using 15-23 mags, havent had much luck with the really big mags, they seem slower than the 15 for the amount of work. Anyways thanks for the imput and I will get some photos up of the job..cheers
My two cents.....I have spoken to Bret Zarro on this...He did a full back piece dragon in a couple days.. He would apply a numbing solution to the tat while he was working.....peace
