A week and a half in

Happy 4th all!! I am a week and a half into my first tattoo. My tattoo has already peeled. My question is how much lotion is too much. The surface of my tattoo is somewhat harder and stiffer than the skin around it. I have been putting lotion on 3 times a day but after about an hour after i put it on the tattoo starts to look dry and I can see little cracks and lines in it, kind of like it is dry. Is this normal or should I be putting more lotion on it? I don't want to f**k it up at this point.
Hey Danny...this is TAz...thanks for your post...although you should be asking your artist...it sounds as if you are doing all the right things...3 times a day should be sufficient...don't over moisturize...that can cause clogged pores ...and really wash it well at least daily to keep the pores clear and allow oxygen into the skin You are doin fine ...where can we see pics?...you can e-mail me one ...we'd love to see it...oh yeah who did yer work man!! Thanks again for the post...TAz, Painted Angel
Thanks for the help Taz, So it is ok if it gets dry and tight feeling? I was getting concerened because it was starting to look really dry. It also has spots were it looks like tiny cracks are forming. Maybe I am just being a overly nervious. It just looks like it has this tough skin layer on top. I guess I just want to make sure it is going to heal up correctly.
Thats just what we call "milk skin"...its just the skin that was damaged during the tattoo process that is dead and needs to slough off...perfectly normal Danny!!!
