Seems the going thing now that the hacks have figured out is to hold "TATTOO PARTIES" in unicensed uninspected HOMES!!! And it is almost always a tattoo artist who IS NOT LICENSED!!
Doesn't that tell you ANYTHING?...This is worse than getting butchered in someone hacks home...If they don't work out of a legal studio and don't have a license THERE IS A REASON!!!!
Go ahead...run the risk of contracting a life long disease or getting a horrible tattoo that will cost you assloads of money to get fixed or removed.
Your life is in your hands!!!
Tattoo party my ASS!!!! More like a "FREE DISEASE PARTY!!!"

how do you get that.
In nearly every state tattooing anywhere but a licensed inspected studio is ILLEGAL....there is a REASON for these laws...Tattooing is an INVASIVE proceedure...would you go to a doctor that didn't work from an office?...Of course not!! These are not the good old days...you can get rid of a bad tattoo...what you cannot get rid of is AIDS. Hepatitis and MRSA!!
Getting tattooed at a party id taking your life in your hands!Do you really want to be tattooed by someone who isn't GOOD enough to work in a shop?
THATS how I get THAT!!!!
freak
Jizz wipe!
You mean THATS all you got?...Ya better give up then chump... you will be eaten alive on this forum
Are we willing this semi-infested cum-bubble to return? Ah hell, at least it will give me something to do when I'm not trying to turn that chick into a vampire.... Got some really cool ideas though ... Although I have to be careful pulling refrences out of the Linsner book... Oops!!! Taz, I'll be honest, it probably won't be a true "portrait" (since I am VERY rusty) but hopefully it will be in the right direction.
Is there a new flash project at the shop that I didn't know about. Nutty was working on Angel stuff and Ant was doing pixies. (Hmmm. That's another story)
Nope no new projects till this coming week ...they are just getting "motivated" shall we say?
BUMP...this is for you DOC!!!
BUMP
I like you taz, you're funny. Why is it that you think that someone who does tattoos anywhere other than a shop is not capable of doing a quality tattoo?
No NO NON NONO!!! That is not what I said...I said doing tattoos in someones home at a tattoo party by an unlicensed artist in an unlicensed and uninspected location.....sorry maybe I didn't say it clearly enough....I have nothing against those who have a shop in their home that follow adequate BBP/ cross contam proceedures and are duly licensed and inspected....Hell I have worked from a home studio ( very temporarily) as have a lot of others ...Paul Booth when he was in Kansas city comes to mind and a slew of others...but if you are a pro you know that tattoo parties are an invitation to disaster...key word there is party!
And in my mind I don't consider hacks doing work at a tattoo party funny at all!! I consider it firstly dangerous for all those drunk and like as not underage "victims"who if they are at a party are almost assuredly snockered and have NO business getting an invasive proceedure...secondly its against the law....we as professionals have to abide by the law are they exempt??
I think not!!!...Have you read the APP article about the MRSA outbreak where 11 cases of MRSA were traced back to one "tattoo party" where people were tattooed by an unlicensed artist?...T
And the point you are missing friend is that my post said nothing about the "quality "of the tattoos...its the SAFETY of the tattoos,,,T
I understand you completely, I agree with you....somewhat. Yes, tattoo parties CAN be a disaster waiting to happen, if you DONT know how to create and maintain a sterile environment, or dont know squat about BBP/Cross contamination, etc. I also agree with something you posted in another topic about forming bad habits. Anyway, if done correctly(which I know most probably are not) although illegal, tattoo parties are not necessarily disasters. When I do tattoo parties, and I do them often, I dont even allow people to watch the person that is getting worked on. I am very tight(almost to the point of being an asshole) because the last thing i want to do is hurt people. I love the art of tattooing and I plan to do this til the day i die. I guess im defending because thats what i do. I know Im good enough to work in a shop, but my situation in life wont allow me to right now. I dont want to be looked upon as someone who is not good enough or a hack because i do parties.
Oh yeah and you did say " getting a crap tattoo that will cost ass loads of money to fix. That's why I guess I feel like you are speaking toward the quality of "party" tattoos.
Speaking in general bud...and no offense but I can think of no reason why if you do decent work that you couldn't do it legally...must be something I am just not smart enough to get I dunno...I stand by what I said..all of it...If the pros have to get licensed and do it the legal way with fees and taxes and maintaining a shop why should you be exempt?...and I would really love to see some pics of your work...can ya e-mail me some?
I am not trying to be a tattoo nazi man...I just have a fundamental opposition to those who completely ignore the things that Myself and all the other pros out there are FORCED to do while another can just ignore the laws and do what they want...am I bieng coherent here at all/...Do you understand my poinT????
trust me I see your point. And I know that nothing makes me different to where i shouldnt have to abide by rules, laws, etc. I plan to open a studio of my own here soon. You know like I know that things like that take time. You probably didnt notice in one of the other topics i talked about being in some legal trouble, and i cant fully devote myself to a shop right now(that's another story though). But dont get me wrong I do see your point.
King Kreations, like Taz, I'm having a hard time understanding why you can't/won't just do it legally (and I too would like to see some photos) It
really sounds more like you're trying to make excuses than giving credible
explainations. If you have legal problems going, doesn't sound too bright to be risking more by doing something you know is illegal and putting you at risk of having your equipment confinscated and, thereby just further delaying you opening your own studio. I'd also like to point out that the fact
you do 'tattoo parties' probably isn't going to impress any Studio owner in
the area (or profession for that matter) and wouldn't help you get into any
truly reputable studio either, something you might want to think about...
Doc
I sent you an e mail taz.
Ok man I get ya now I have been tjhere myself!! If I can do anything to help just yell ok?...I ain't condoning the tattoo party thing at all and I think you could find other avenues to ply your art but I do conmiserate with you and its apparent that you aren't a hack...
So good luck man and like I said I have been in your spot before and if I can help I will!!...See ya!!!...TAz
It's cool man, like I said I understand your views and I agree. I guess I was just trying to defend myself more than anyone else. I take pride in what I do and i can see that you and a lot of the others that post in TATTOONOW do also, thanks for the vote of confidence. Later.
