all machinists out there!

8 messages · last activity 7/29/2006

ive seen tons of different styled machines out there. ive seen tons of machines made out of different materials, nails, wood. even a lock to a door. but i dont think ive ever seen a clear plexiglass/acrylic one. has anyone done it before? how did it run, look, feel, and sound? i have the possibility (tools and material) to make one. but i wanted to get some info on it first.
i've no idea how to manufacture/fabricate any of this stuff, nor have any knowledge about tattooing... BUT. my job is in the acrylic & glass market. I've free samples of 8x10 3.0mm & 6.0mm acrylic coming out the wazzoo - so let me know if you need anything.
i work at a stencil cutting place. we use lasers to cut thin ass milar. but me and the owner had a conversation about pushing the lasers to the limit. first it was about steel. but none of the lasers cut at the amount of wattage it would need. but it can cut through very thick plexi. we do have the ability to get plexi of all sizes. but if this project pans out, ill keep you in mind. thanks
Dermagraphics sold a glass machine a few years back...you might contact them...T
i also just heard some dude exclusively makes acrylic and plexi machines out west. Doc somethin.... but yeah i guess superior makes a nylon one..
