it just started but i can't think of anything that im doing differently than before other a few new bottles of ink. i use fusion eternal and dynamic black. the shit varies from person to person on where it breaks out. wither its all over the tattoo or just a certain color and its been quite a few people and i have looked all over the internet and i keepo getting the research.
-ink reaction
-reaction to ointment
-clogged pores
i have gotten rid of some of the ink that i feel is a culprit but only few people are allergic to certain ink so i dont know what to throw away. i dont wanna reinvest 600$ in ink
my boss who apprenticed me has no idea and even said that maybe im over working the skin. but here's the thing....
the tattoo heals perfectly, flakes no scabbing just like it should and then boom, itchy bumbs pops up. please help me out i can't figure out what to do.
alot of the tattoos im doing are breaking out in these weird reactions

It also could be the way your clients are taking care of their tattoos...too much oinments can really do a number on the tattoo and cause reactions.
I am suprised becaust usually Eternal is pretty good-but there is always a chance of a bad batch. Is it just the black? If it is the others may not be affected, get a fresh bottle and see what happens. I would also call the company up and give them the batch # to see if the ink was recently "updated" as they also could be using different ingredients.
I personally use only starbrite inks and never react to the ink-even their reds - but put Moms monthly red in my skin and forget it---bump city. Hope this helps.
how are they healing the tattoos? Sounds like heat rash from plastic wrap possibly....?
Both ointment and plastic wrap give me pimples. It's dry healing or tattoo-derm for me.
My friend got the same reaction with red ink a couple of months ago. I didnt pay any attention to which ink the artist used but only the red did this. It did exactly what u described. It was fine and dandy then it just dried quickly into an ashy lumpy itchy surface despite basic treatments for the healing process. So, like a said, it has been a few months and now its healed up FINALLY but the tattoo is fine now...looks just as good and bright as the day it was done. Its so weird. It was done by Swipe @ Humble Beginnings here in San Jose. Awesome artist btw.
Also forgot to mention the fact that the red ink turned from bright red, to pink, to WHITE, but then when it healed up it was bright red again. Thats why we thought it was so weird. Once again it healed over several months. Not typical haha
