Am I getting Hives from my tattoo?

Okay, so Wednesday night went to the hubbys best friends shop and got some ink done. All black ink, the beginning of a large dragon peice from shoulder to shoulder. I was under the gun for about an hour and a half. Half, an hour later I began itching and notices little bumps all over my lower legs (not where the tat is). Now I've had one small tat from the same shop a year ago, and 4 others. As I read on the net, you can develop an allergy even with previous tats or just from the kind of ink. BUT, everything I read tends to start at the actual tat sight, which isnt my case. Now, a day and a half later they are spreading out, legs all over from ankle to thigh, elbows, wrists and a small few on my hips now. The majority being on my upper thighs and joints? Going to call my tat artist when I think he may be awake, but does anyone have any opinions? Anything I read seems to indicate a reaction 1-3 days AFTER the tat, not immediately. AND I dont think I ever recall having hives like this. I actually thought maybe I ran into fleas :/ Opinions please? Thanks!

hey i recently got a little tattoo on my lower wasit and the day after i got hives and i took medication but they keep coming back. i'm worried and i dont want to go to the doctors. has anyone suggested anything to you to help it? or cure it? please respond back.

Both posts sound like an allergic reaction....take some benadryl and see if calms the reaction down. If it doesn't calm down go to the doctors. People, please don't think of past times what you had done etc...Too many people seem to think because they didn't have the same reaction before that it's something strange!
