Hello, my name is Isaac James, an 18 year old visual designs/fine art major at in Indiana. I have been taking interest in the art of tattooing for the last two years of my life and am seeking an apprenticeship to start after this fall college semester. I know I'm young and am excited about learning, as I am always open minded. hi i started tattooing 8 years ago did bout 30-40 tattoo's threw lots of tat parties. until the one time i did and get trashed i now know that was a bad idea well not so bad if i would of locked the car when i took all my stuff out see where im going with this, yep all was stolen. well i had alot of money in all that didnt get replenished for a while. Im always trying to give good advice for people looking to get in to the tattoo industry and if your truly wanting to learn dont settle for just anybody with a machine. Make sure there someone who you really want to learn from with great skill and can actually show you a thing or two. It takes alot of time and dedication and the best advice is draw, draw, draw. Write me a 300 page theme and tell me why you are worthy of my time. I will let you work for free. I would NEVER allow anybody to work for me for free. Scrubbing tubes and sanitizing a work area is VITAL work and needs to be compensated for with a salary. If you can't afford to pay it ..... do it yourself!

To all of you who have or are considering apprenticing for this so called ' Mortis'.. let me give you the facts on him.. and mind you mr. Mortis ( its not slander when I know first hand its the truth)... He is an ex-con, does not have anywhere near the amount of experience he claims.. ( if you would like to see his prison style work) Google maple city studios.. hes not there anymore due to him stealing,lying,horrible work, drug habit, and his poor hygiene (witch i cant believe he has the gull to request someone to have good hygiene, (when you need a respirator when you're near him) He preys on people that he can take advantage of. he will not teach you anything you cannot find on the internet...in fact everything he practices is completely wrong. he works out of his kitchen now and does not have a separate area of his house... so technically hes a scratcher..also.. he likes to talk behind a computer on these forums so he can feel he gets recognition for something hes not or ever will be.. in fact I would put money on the fact he is several people on here, for his own amusement... Trust me you're privileged to never know him.. The portrait youll see on that site I gave you for one is horrible,( especially with the lie of how many years hes been doing this) had to be covered up. the guy came in and said he spent 5grand for his daughters teeth to be perfect and this guy made her look like they were rotted out...no joke.. so its been covered.. Mortis I have 2 things to say to you... put down the tattoo machine and your fake image of yourself and two, If I have anything to do with it, you will never take advantage of someone willing to become a tattooist again...period

Hi I am Melissa Miller im 24 yrs old I live in Iowa. I tried two different college's. It didn't work out. Born an artist out of it by practicing all the time when i was an elementary and middle school and high school art was my favorite subject. I'm really good at it. all of my family members and friends think I should tattoo. Only I just don't know how to get into it, I've heard from other tattoo parlors that it's really hard to get into um so I guess I just been a little afraid to take that step I have a child right now, single mother.
