apprenticeship in nyc? tips on my portfolio

Hello, I'm a video game artist/storyboard artist looking to earn a break in this industry. I've always felt that skin art is one of the most important and beautiful forms of fine art possible. I'm in NYC and wondering if anyone here knows of any area artists that would at least be open to THE IDEA of taking on an apprentice? And if so, what kind of art should I show? I'm developing some example flash sheets, but was wondering if any pros here could recommend additional stuff to produce for my folio. you can see work some of my work here: http://www.3distic.com thanks in advance, allan
Great artwork, you have the first part down. Ok, so you want to tattoo. Are you tattooed? How much interaction do you have with the tattoo world? The best way to get an apprenticeship is to have a protfolio so hot the studio/tattoo artist wants to take you on. Then, you have to convince them that you are worth investing quite a bit of time into. I imagine the best way would be to scope out some great artists in new york (new york adorned, mcdougal st tattoo) and get soem work done by em, meet em, and see what they think about your portfolio, and what steps you still need to take. As far as desiging flash sheets, check out the tattoo flash sets on this website as examples of what works and what doesnt. good luck!
