I tried this at an eco-green convention last week, and it really helped to straighten the back out,and releive tension when your sitting,or hunched over tattooing all day..
Also maybe get a latex bed that alleviates pressure points on your body..
i speak from experiance unfortunately, having had surgery to correct but there are a few things you can do to help.
some people i know use this type of a chair, not this specifically but same basic concept. http://wwwDOTkneelsitDOTcom/designpicsDOThtml
you can lay on the floor flat, and elevate your legs with a milk crate and a pillow, allowing your lower leg to rest on that and this flattens out your lower back for some relief, you can even go further to roll up a towel and slide it under your lower butt to create a slight curve to make your back unroll even more.
hope this helps, lower back pain is torture.
You also should start working out regulary. A good thing to strenghten your lower back is doing stomach vacuum's. It has helped me.
