Artist Selection In Houston or Texas

9 messages · last activity 1/20/2006

Hello all, I am interested in finding someone who does traditional Japanese work. I am shopping around for an artist that will collarborate with me on some custom work and has the right kind of experience to execute it properly. I am in Houston, but I am willing to travel if necessary. Any help in the process would be greatly appreciated. Best, Tim http://www.timbrisko.com
Hey if your looking for traditional japanese style tattooing than you gotta go see Chris Trevino in Austin TX www.christrevino.com It's pretty much all he does... JOE
Thanks Joe, I'll check it out. Tim
Joe tell's the truth Chris T. is the texas authority on traditional style jap. tattoos. i'm not sure if i can help you or not with out seeing the refrence or knowing the design but if you would like to look at my website http://www.aarondaletattoos.com i'm in houston,tx. plus i travel to most of the Tattoo conventions in Texas so may be i can help you find the perfect artist at one of the show's if all else fails.
check out www.chrislain.com he does some excellent asian work.
hey tim ucan also check jasonbrookstattoo.com he works with chris..you can probably get an appointment quicker with him...i would think that chris would be booked up for a while.and jason puts on a really solid tattoo.if you really wan't to travel,go to shinji,at new york adorned..he does tebori tattooing.
Chris is definately good at traditional Japanese, but he has a very long waiting list and is quite expensive. The other artist in his shop is Jason Brooks, he's really good. But if I had my choice of artisis in Austin, it would be Mike Terrell at Gully cat Tattoo. Check it out.
Chris is definitely the man to see for traditional Japanese tattooing. He is currently doing my back piece and is remarkable artist. He is now doing tebori and likes to hold to tradition. By all means see the man if you want traditional work and perfection.
