Attention: Tattoo artists and shop owners, slowdown in the industry?

Hi, I own a tattoo supplies company and had really great sales from Jan. through April. But I noticed this month has been very slow. My sales have dropped almost 50%. This is a huge drop. Any reason to this? Is it because this is "slow season" or is it because you guys had to pay a lot back to uncle sam fror Tax return? Any info will help. I'm close to hitting the panick button.
coz artist rips apart with their hourly rate, i not hating on the value of tattoo.....but common guys most of the good artist charge 150-300 per hour..... and ofcourse, u dont want a cheap tattoo by bunker guy....so people wait for long time.....or drop their plans and instead of getting a tattoo they get t-shirt tattoo'd (printing)
am i missing something or is what silverbackster said a total load of shite? someone explain what the fuck he is trying to say!.. and for the original question, the shop i work at is steady at the mo, but it is usually alot more busy! possible a slow tome everywhere? roll on summer :D
In most areas of the US this is traditionally a slow time right between the first of summer and the actual hot weather...It always comes back though!
By the way I too have no fucking idea what Silverbackster is trying to say...explain please?
If anyone can give me good ranges of slow and busy times (as in seasons or months) in the tattoo business, that would be great. Any info would help. Thanks!
for us summer and christmas are the two most busy times, summer because people want something to show off, other people see their tattoos and want some, and xmas because alot of people get tattoos as presents! rest of the year is a quessing game.. dunno how it is in the states
Well, its not across the board... my supplies bill went up the last few weeks,,,
how come a tattoo supplier doesn't know about his/her market before jumping to this business? Research! study the market, your competitors, visit a few shops, call shops from around the US, get busy instead of panicking!

And what supply company do you run if I may ask?
