I bought a stove top autoclave and i am wondering about the bags. They're heat sealing autoclave bags and i'm wondering your supposed to actually put bags in the autoclave or if you just put the stuff in them after you've taken it out of the clave. probably a stupid question but i'm just wondering because it doesn't seem like the stuff would sterilize if its inside a little plastic/paper pouch?
Tks, mike

just because im in a goooooooooood mood!!! make damm sure ya clean all equip going into bag's. place items in bags and sterilise.remember at least 15 to 19 psi for 35 minutes min.also keep all bags out of water you should have a storage container to place items in
Erlich, don't lie you're never in a good mood ;)
well shit that cats out of the bag!!!! ok ok so i suffer from multipile personality's. but quiet dont tell no one especially you know who!!!!!!
I personally like to run all the gear naked on the clave and then a second and last cycle with everything bagged.
Like earlich said make sure your clave is cranking the necessary pressure to kill any live agent.
I'm telling, I'm telling.
oh shit!!!!!!! king we in trouble!!!!!!! run and hide!!!!!!! hell have no fury like MARY!!!!!! LOL
It's true.
Another question if ya'll don't mind! I used the heat"seal" bags but they didn't seal in the autoclave. They're 11" x 4" so I cut some off to make room for more. could that have done it? Also i had the bags stacked on top of one another, maybe that was it? The clave i've got is just a cheap stove top model with wing nut fasteners and i cant fit much in it at a time. It works but it's pretty small and you've got to watch it to maintain pressure and what not. anyway, tell me what ya think. Tks evabody ;)
i dont think you have a fuckin clue as to what yer doin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
My question is, are you being 100% honest with people you're tattooing and telling them that you aren't sure how to sterilize your instruments that you're using on them?
Smackdown... do you honestly think i would ask if i did have a "fuckin clue"? C'mon little buddy, exercise some common sense. I'm not sure how the the world works in your red neck of the woods but over this way we ask questions when we don't know things and generally people are nice enough to answer them.
Krystof... I've used disposables on everyone so far, the steel tips, tubes ans autoclave are new. I don't lie to people i tattoo, i take this very seriously. any ideas about my question if you don't mind?
tks, mike
make sure you peel the tape off and seal the bag the heat will finish the seal for ya i like 2 3/4 x 9 and there color indicated so when its done the indicator turns brown.or purple, depending on the bag.ya shouldnt have to cut your bags yes you have a small unit but it works
Hey man, any tattoo professional tattoo artist would know the answer. Something tells me that you are not quite familiar with your gear.
I've seen those "cheap stoves" they usually come with your 500 buck "cheap ebay" tattoo kit.
Those cheap stove claves are known for leaking pressure.
Don't get mad if people care about you and your customers. You don't cut corners when it comes to sanitation and sterilization. If you can afford a good sterilizer and or don't know how to operate it, you should not be tattooing.
I wish I had a better answer for but this is the plain truth.
Fair enough, If you're taking it that seriously, you should pursue an apprenticeship before tattooing anybody. At that point, you would already know these questions, which in my opinion, should be known and learned through your mentor BEFORE tattooing people.
No disrespect to you or anyone else Fallen King Irons but it absolutely blows my mind how people will take 5 or 10 minutes out of their day to shit on someone for asking a question instead of giving a straight answer. Tattooing isn't rocket science! You can wipe your ass with gold flake my friend but at the end of the day standard 2-ply does the same job! My autoclave may be cheap but 20 psi for 35+ minutes is the same on a $300 fuck pot as it is on a $3000 rig. My question has nothing to do with the autoclave.... I bought some heat seal bags, there's no sticky thing on them and they don't seal in the autoclave. I'm asking for advice, not a lecture. That being said, your response (as useless as it was) seemed polite and I will thank you for that much.
Try being more like Erlich! That guy is one in a million. He answers my questions honestly and without criticism like a real artist and because of it he has the respect of one more person.
"I'm asking for advice, not a lecture. That being said, your response (as useless as it was) seemed polite and I will thank you for that much"
Sorry that advising you to pursue an apprenticeship was "useless" advice. I bet at some point in the future you'll put your foot in your mouth on that one if you are indeed as serious as you claim.
If the bags didn't come with the tape on (like most pouches) then you need to buy the tape (there is a special one for autoclaves)
And NO! you are supposed to put the gear in the pouch, seal it, and then put everything in the autoclave. Those bags are meant to use while sterilizing, that's teh whole purpose of the bag.
Buy these kind of Pouches and you will have to avoid the tape:

Don't get all bitter man, we bitch with motives.
*correction*
"Those bags are meant to be used while sterilizing"
thanks for the kind words. but i must concur with king and krystof.true i do not know king that well but he has knowledge and ive talked to krystof on several ocassions, via internet.i have my times they can tell ya that for sure as we all do LOL but any who like they say we do it for motovation. your being safe and thoughtful about SAFTEY thats good. so ask what ya want but understand we really dont answer q&a on technical stuff like the actual process and such. not to be mean or rude but more as a right of passage to be able to obtain that knowkedge. patience can and will be your virtue with this.if its what you truly want and desire you will suceed.but like i say dont be afraid to ask.the stupidist question ever asked is the one not asked.
those heat seal bags don't seal themselves when they get hot. You need another machine that looks like one of those paper cutters but with a little iron thing instead of the razor
You make a good point erlich. The sweetest fruit always is at the top of the tree. Makes sense to have to work for it, everybody would be doing it if it was easy. I apologize for any harsh comments to anyone, just makes me a little hot headed when i can't figure stuff out.
tks- Kearney
