baby oil when healing?

I was told to apply baby oil on my tattoo for healing by my artist. Is that a good idea or will it have an adverse effect?

No! HELL NO!!! Never put baby oil on a fresh tattoo!..Stuff is full of harsh perfumes and emollients that can clog pores...BAD IDEA!>>T

BAD idea, any petroleum substance, including baby oil and vaseline will draw the colour out and ruin a tattoo. i used an antiseptic cream my tattooist recommended and it worked a treat.

UHHHH NO!! Not Correct!! We in this industry have been using petroleum products for years and years on tattoos with excellent results....ever heard of A&D? how about Bacitracin or any Triple Antibiotic ointment?...What do they all have in common???
