Well i was diagnosed with crohn's disease when i was 13 years old and i am now gonna be 22 in a couple of months and it has been a constant battle with it. I was to get something to represent my battle with the crohn's disease. I was thinking of maybe a japanese dragon battling something that would resemble the crohn's disease which would be something "bad" or an enemy of the japanese dragon....i was thinking of getting it on my leg...any input let me know? Thanks

while i've no helpful input for you...
i can say that you are very lucky in your geographic location -- south jersey has many talente tattoo artists, as well as many amazing artists in nearby philly and delaware.
personally i'd be interested in seeing the work when you've it done (or in progress) and also would like to know what design & artist you decide on!
good luck to you and keep us posted!!!
You could always go for the mongoose and snake if you're going for a metaphorical type of tat to symbolize your battle. (think Riki Tiki Tavi)...
You are in luck, lots of great tattoo artists around there. I would pick an artist and work out the design with them. The more invested an artist is with the design, the more inspired they will be to rock it out. Your looking for traditional asian I take it?
im not exactly sure, i was thinking traditional asian, but is there another form?
Hey man, I would do something that represent how lucky you are of being alive, maybe a combination of both. Jap art is my fav when it comes to war.
Good luck and keep the fight tight.
Regards
I'd get a tattoo of a young man stuffing his diarrhea back into his ass with that rapper who did the IBS song in the backround throwing up a gang sign, wearing a burger king crown. bottom line is, if you can't think of something meaningful i would wait and get it later.
your boy Cam'ron puttin it down!
Lemme tell y'all a lil story about myself
This right here is a true story, check it out though
[Verse 1]
Ulcers hurt my salary, alter my personality
Give it to you real, I can't feed my culture no fallacy
You know my attitude, arrogant, cocky rude
Eatin off papi food, used to be a stocky dude
Weighed two-twenty, wit two honies, I move monie
It's true dummy, dunny need a new tummy
I become berserk, it was no fun to work
Everyday my stomach hurt, rippin off my undershirt
The pain was no comparison, stomach started cherishin
Throwin up in public, yo fuck it, it was embarrassin
Regurgitatin, green, yellow, burgundy, Boom
But came my urgency soon, (what) the emergency room (oh)
In there, no salvage, treated like a cold savage
They said pimpin symptoms, huh, a dope addicts
There you have it, but they ain't find no heroin
Coke, crack, dope, just weed, but that's my medicine
[Chorus]
My baby mama, mama, and my grandma
Say that I'm too gordy (too gordy), word to my blue maurys
This is a true story
I got stomach pain, don't matter sun or rain
Thought that it went away, uh oh, here it come again
[Verse 2]
Never mind stuntin, dime puffin, doc spent his time frontin
He like a bad detective, he ain't find nuttin
Besides that though, I can't enjoy a movie, dinner (why is that?)
My son growin up, I'm lookin like the movie thinner
I'm thinkin suicide, do or die, sit and cry (oh)
What hurt my baby moms askin if I'm gettin high (what the fuck you talkin about?)
She gonna play me a thug, I told the lady I love
If it ain't hustlin ma, please don't relate me to drugs (at all)
I'm loosin weight though, everyday pounds and muscles
Gotta get off my ass, hit some towns and hustle
Bein sick, huh, it get sickenin you know
I was too sick to do shows, but still equipped to move O's
You know my attitude, get it how I get it
If I can shoot, I turn around (then) I'm off my pivot
And oops, I thought I had it mapped
Weight started to gain again, it was just a game my friend
Dame mane I pained again
[Chorus]
[Verse 3]
Ay yo, god body, I'm hard bodied, word mommy, vanishin
Hadda go low, the male clinic, Minnesota
I couldn't get cake, a rock in a hard place
For me, that's a odd place, I'm only here by God's grace
Like a lab rat, them tests dishonor Cam
Ultrasound, MIR, CAT scan, sonogram
Laparoscopy, inoscopy, I be stressed (I be stressed)
The prognosis, diagnosed, IBS
And that's irritable bowel child, I hadda spit it y'all
Kick to y'all, so it ain't my fault if I shit on y'all
Get it, get it, get it, get it?
[Chorus x 2]
i was hoping for some better ideas...
-sighs- Thats the thing about trolls, they dont discriminate, and they dont have the common decency to back off and know when to shut their childish mouths.
First, I can only imagine what you are struggling with on a daily basis, lots of luck to you.
I think the snake vs. Mongoose is a great idea.I would take a day to visit different artists, take a look at some portfolios, and speak to someone who's style you like, they might have some great suggestions for you, and be able to weave up an image that will truly be personal and full of meaning.
ok haney, I dont like throwing ideas at people over the internet, mainly because I dont know you, or what you like, but if you were thinking of going with traditional japaneese work, and going with the whole over-comming your struggle, I do think the mongoose/snake is a good idea, I also think that the traditional warrior entangled and fighting with a dragon(or serpent) is another good idea, I would also consider throwing in a few other symbolic things into this piece to make it unique, perhaps a yin/yang which shows the balance of good and evil.
Ultimately the final decision is yours, its your body, wear what you want on it. best advice I can give is find a custom tattooist you are comfortable with, explain your situation, and what you are looking for. if your custom artist is any good, he/she can design something for you that will be exactly what you are looking for.
good luck
Mortis
the snake and mongoose thing sounds cool and represents it well, but to me a mongoose kinda looks like a possum type thing and i really dont want people to look at it and think its a possum fighting a snake...lol
wait! what about mr hankey getting killed by a roll of toilet paper and a bottle of pepto bismol!
It was really weird to come across this posting. I am actually researching into getting a tattoo. As i have just been diagnosed with Crohn's, (I am 19) and it has really effectived my life (as im sure this person can relate) I am actually leaning towards symbols representing health, wellness or prosperity. I have been looking into celtic symbols , which are very intrique, the detail is amazing. Unlike some of the arrogant comments posted, it is a battle, and when getting a tattoo u want something to represent every aspect and feeling you have gone through when dealing with this condition. So that is my advice, research symbols (from pagan to celtic) bc many have direct meanings...i hope that helps
ps: who ever put that stupid poem up, your pathetic...thank u! :)
Hey. I have Crohn's and have had it for many years now. Everyday is a constant battle to say the least. It's a MAJOR part of my life and I have to plan my days according it how I feel. I've also been thinking about getting a tat based on my disease and the struggle I face with it, but haven't been able to come up with a lot that I have liked.......so far. I like your ideas about good vs. evil concept. My advice isn't much better than what a couple of others of said. Keep researching and make sure you are happy with the concept. Research your artist as well......get references from people who have tats. That is the best way to find your artist.
Good luck man and keep fighting the fight!
