Getting my forth tattoo this friday on the back of my shoulder. Being as though this will be my first tattoo done in the winter months, I want to make sure the healing process progresses correctly as the skin tends to dry out something awful here in the northeast.
After the initial bacitracin or antibiotic applications, what is the best moisturizer/lotion to then apply? I know there are some that are marketed as "tattoo specific"
Thanks for the help
Best after care lotion for tattoo?

Honestly, Lubiderm works great, unless you've ever had a funny reaction to it, but I'd ask your artist because if you put something on that (s)he doesn't recommend, then they can't be responsible if it heals funny or needs a touch up.
I tell people to use Aquaphor as ointment and Aveeno with oatmeal for lotion and the combo works awsome, heals fast without much dry skin or scabs and has healed work within a week and not the 14 days some take to heal.
Out To Sea, created by us for us. For artist to provide their clients a lotion formulated without the junky fillers you find in most over the counter products.
OTS is a vegan product, non-scented, contains no wax or fillers. Apply OTS 2 days after tattoo, and continue use when skin is dry. OTS goes along way some use smaller amounts.
Please remember to ALWAYS follow the instructions of your artist.

afterinked is the best shit on the market.
and it's overpriced as fuck.
I used Out to Sea, no stinging, no animal testing. Its as pure as it gets, and no smell. My tattoo healed beautifully. and by the way, they make a great lube as well
A vegan product? No Animal testing?? MAKES A GREAT LUBE????
Christ Almighty!! I'm freaking tongue tied here! I have no reply.
Ummmm
Go get an apprenticeship!!!
Hey,
There is an awesome new product just coming out on the market called, TAT-Totally Awesome Tattoo Lotion used not only for healing new tattoos but for revitalizing and brightening older tattoos. Its an awesome lotion, its fragrance free and doesn't leave a greasy residue. Its also fortified with vitamins A,D, and E and shea butter. You can check it out at www.tatlotion.com.Trust me this product is amazing and it really works!
Hope you guys can check it out!
Olive oil. don't laugh- try it faithfully for the duration of one tattoo's heal, and you'll laugh at people who spend a buncha $ on vegan lube or wax. after 48 hrs, use a couple drops in the palm of your CLEAN hand, and gently rub it on(not in- it will soak in within a min or 2)...
