BEST PORTRAIT ARTIST IN TEXAS??

i recently had a pet of 14 years pass and i would like to get a portrait of him possibly done... i've got other ink done, but nothing as intricate as this would be... if anybody has any suggestions.. i reside in round rock (essentially austin), but would consider going to dallas, houston, san antonio if i needed to... thanks.. :) please email me with any input = [email removed]

The best portrait artist in texas(or the rest of the country)in my opinion is Fidel at Twisted Southside Tattoo Studio in Pasadena Texas.He has over 30 years experience and is renowned for his blackwork and portrait ability.The address is 2805 Strawberry rd. Does anybody know if Fidel still works at Twisted Southside? I think the studio relocated off of Spencer but was wondering if Fidel works there? If not there then where? Want to get a tattoo by him.

Fidel is not at twisted southside. He never was. He owned the original southside tattoo shop. Twisted Southside is a knockoff. Fidel is now at "YOU PICK IT WE STICK IT & THE ORIGINAL SOUTHSIDE TATTOO STUDIO" If you want to go see him, the shop is at 8405 Almeda Genoa in houston. the studio's phone number is 713-987-0006. THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME KNOW!!! I remember the old tattoo shop on pasadena blvd. I'm glad you told me about the one on spencer cause i checked out their website and no sign of Fidel. I had been to the pasadena blvd. one a couple of times before it closed but never got the balls to get a tattoo. my husband always did and now that i've grown some (lol)...i want one! i'll let him know you sent me when i go. No problem at all. I am going to get fidel to do my *first* tattoo because my mom told me that she'd pay for it if i waited till i was 18-i'm 21 now, it's taken me that long to decide on a design. Fidel's pretty great... he's done all of my mom's. hoping to go pretty soon to get it.

Fidel has a new shop in Pasadena, Texas! It is called "Majestic Tattoo"; it is on Preston Street 2 blocks North of Spencer, and here is the phone number: 281-998-0202. Tell him Kenney sent you.

Actually, Majestic Tattoo is owned by Mr. Griffith, a long time friend of Fidel. They also do body piercing as well as tattoos. Futhermore, I have heard that the quality of "youpickwestickit" is terrible - straight from Fidel. That's probably why he is at Majestic now. Anyway, the shop is on Preston in between Spencer and Pasadena Blvd - definately check it out.

Oh, and if you really want a discount - tell them that Bryan Griffith sent you, as he is the owner's son.

I agree, Nate Beavers, hands down.

Fidel and Nate do great work but Fidel will give you a more reasonable price I45 ink is great but there prices are very high, but one bad thing about Fidel for people getting there first tattoo is that is he thinks your under the influence of anything the tattoo is a no-go even if they are in the middle of it when the stuff kicks in

go to aztec ink and ask for john. he did a portrait of my fiance on my forearm and he did an excellent job!!!! i love it and it looks like the picture i gave him exactly!!! he sketched it first then he did it. they do it for reasonable prices!!! aztec ink is located at gulf bank and interstate 45 in houston

Well the story with tattoos is you get what you pay for...doesn't take long to tell after looking at both artist work I'm going to Nate... Don't know him never met the guy but his work speaks for it's self!
