Best Texas and Louisiana artists?

I am wanting a second tattoo and I am very particular of the whos, whats, and wheres. My first tattoo was a spur of the moment thing that I didn't put much thought into. Can you tell me who are the top artists in Texas and where I can find them? I would also consider traveling to Louisiana.

I have a couple of ideas. One of them being two butterfly shapes with my children's faces within the butterflies. I'm not sure if this one can be done because I wouldn't want each butterfly bigger than 3 inches squared. The second is a design by Gail Somers that I would like to add to. It is a lower back tattoo with the butterfly in the center, swirls/curls to the sides. I would like to add two smaller butterflies (each representing a child for me) within the swirls keeping the design balanced.

In texas there is a shop called S&S saints and sinners, its in carrollton tx. Great artist. owners nick and amy, I cannot remember the number for the shop but look it up. if you go there tell em Dan from cali sent ya!! Good luck

He did 5 of my 6 tattoos (the only one he didn't do was my first one & I wish he'd done it too). He is an amazing artist, guarantees his work and is nationally recognized as one of the top tattoo artists in the business! In 2000 Tattoo Flash magazine gave him the cover and 13 pages showcasing his work (my "Wolf in the Moon" tat on my leg was one of the tats they chose). We just opened the Texas tattoo gallery, no one in Louisiana is an artist member yet and the convention was last weekend... though if you search the forum archives you will see more recommendations.

Hi there... I just moved from Shreveport, LA where I was working at Black Dragon Tattoo so I know a bit about that town. While I will agree with the fact that James C. does good work, I don't think he is tattooing in S'port anymore, and I KNOW he is not at Moderne Pimitives. I talked to him before I left and I think he is headed to South Texas somewhere. For some good work in S'port, go see Jason at black dragon (318) 636-0510. In my eyes about the only guy in town that could run with James. I am not telling you this because I used to work there, just my oppinion. Also there is a guy working over at Moderne Primitives on Kings Hwy. (sorry, I can not remember his name, but go there and look at some portfolios... it will be REAL obvious). Hope this helps.... Do not listen to Desiree! I went there and I waited six and a half hours only to find out that the only tattoo artist was drinking beer and he was also talking on the phone and he never changed his gloves.It also took him two hours on a simple tattoo because all he did was talk, he must have talked on the phone 6 or 7 times during one tattoo. I don't think he works there all of the time though. I have heard that the owner does amazing tattoos, but I wouldn't let that other man touch me.

I just happen to come across this link as My tattoo artist Windy, has moved Body Electric in Shreveport and I wanted to check the place out. She has done all 9 of mine and has been in the business for over 10 years. She and I have designed each of mine and several she has even free-handed on me. She is an excellent artist and has a large following. Her clients range from all ages and have traveled from all over for her work. Windy is now at Body Electric in Shreveport, LA.

It is possible that the best artists don't want to do your idea. They get swarms of people asking them to tattoo them.The would prefer to do original ideas. The butterfly tramp stamp is pretty played out.
