Black Lotus Tattoo Machine

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Black Lotus Tattoo Machine. I am contemplating purchasing this machine and wanted to know what people thought of it. It is supossedly a very good, solid machine that can easily be tunned from a liner to a shader while the machine is still running, which is a hudge advantage to me. It is a little pricier than most machines at $360 US, but the fact that you only need one machine to do the job makes up for that. hhmmm.... don't know much about this machine. There's some threads about others, such as the machines from Pulse which seem to get really good reveiws. I mainly run a Coastal Waters, which for me does the trick. Good design, runs pretty good... made from a classic. Sorry this isn't much help. CD

i've never herd of a black lotus machine. but it sounds like crap to me. if you're doing a tattoo, when you switch to a shader or color packer you don't want to have to change tubes and needles. you want to just switch machines and go. i personally go back and fourth many times in some tattoos. so that would be a pain in the ass for me. i run pulse machines, but am slowly switching to workhorse irons machines and am verry happy with them.

It looks like one of those frameless deals and has 100 posible set ups,if you like to constantly fiddle with stuff it's prob just right for you.And if your using one machine for everything,well that just sounds like(nope wont say it)a pain in the ass.

well i checked it out. and i was right it's crap. yes it can be a liner, color packer, and shader. but you have to change tube and needle then change all the settings. and to change from a liner, to shader or color packer you really need a different weight A-bar, and to some extent different springs. who the hell has time to do all that in the middle of a tattoo. so in concluesion, it's just a gimmik, for the average scratcher.

Junk total junk PERIOD...a buddy of mine bought one and it sucks shit....the coils are underpowered the tube vise works loose easily and like junk said one machine just cannot do the work of two...try Rob Giustis Hotsparks...I have used and own damn near every machine there is and when I got mine from Rob I quit using everything else ...PERIOD...at $150 a pop they cannot be beat...better even than the pulse and workhorse irons in my opinion and I own em [email removed] if I remember correctly...I don't get free or discounted machines for plugging these monsters either...I USE THEM EVERY DAY!!...TAz, Painted Angel Studios

These Jack-a$%'s have no idea what they are talking about. Yes!!! Buy it! Worth the 3 c-notes! Most reliable, longest running machine i've owned. 5,000 hours on the same springs, fully adjustable, sick! Better outliner than a shader, not enough punch for magnum needles. Good luck!

this machine is as awsome as it sounds..ive had one for a few weeks an definitly worth its wile..

I only speak for myself but a friend talked me into the black lotus slimbeam from my hard working sharpz and will never go back i use a sharpz microdial or iron contraption as a liner but the lotus is perfectly balanced and also great for right or left hand use. I would recommend black lotus to all.

well,well,well, first off to all you idiots who have slagged the black lotus machines off,especially those who have never used one this is the machine criteria, it's a machine that can be set up as either a liner or shader or colour packer and will deliver the same results on a daily basis without the need to re tune it every day as you do with most of the average twin coil tattoo machines on the market today,one machine can do all three jobs but as you all have commented that is bullshit in a studio scenario for the professional , result buy three set them up to do each job.thats if you weiners have got the money,well hey the way some of you talk you must all be millionaires due to all the machines you own and the knowledge you all have !!!! coils are eight wrap in .35 coated wire,if you aint got the power turn the volts up ,the machine won't get hot cos it has solid cores(yes the reason all the crappy machines run hot is the coil cores not the coils, you might also notice in a hot machine it's the rear coil that gets hottest first, due to the coil system being unbalanced and built with cheap off the shelf coil cores, which causes magnetic loss resulting in the generation of heat) well the retail price now for a slimbeam or a pirata pro is £150 we think that is a fair price for a custom built machine of this quality and we do discount a little bit for multiple orders and static custom built machines.check out our new website at www.blacklotus-tattoo.com or have a look on ebay we don't waste time bullshitting !! our credentials are on the website, tattoo gallery (all done with our machines)and an airbrush gallery yes we can draw as well as paint and tattoo . lastly a big thank you to the owners and users of our machines who have posted a positive reaction to our product.BIG respect. Yeah and I have been talking to Roger via e-mail and plan on getting 2 of the machines he really knows his stuff and each machine is custom biult so i am willing to try it out .. If you have any questions just hit him up he was really helpfull and answered questions very promptly

I have 5 of these machines and they work how the owners of black lotus say you can adjust these machines while they are running they will do any job you want them to do and when you finish a job throw them in a draw and the next day they will run as they did the day before without having to adjust them. Also Dawn And Roger the makers of these machins are two of the most decent people i ever met and they helped me alot too. So plz people show these guys some respect they deserve it thankyou Mr Sol Simmons

ive owned a lotus vector for a year or two and can do nothing but praise it!! runs sweet as a nut every time and yes it can be run as a shader/liner/color banger if you can be arsed to re tune it each time if not why not buy all 3 rodger rabbit does some exellent deals and tests each one before sending them in short id never go back to another machine its reliable day in day out what more could you ask

Obviosly these wankers go around acting like they have used every machine on the market when in reality they have a made in china in their moms kitchen drawer. I used my boss's older first edition slim beam, as just a liner, and bought one immediately, soon after a one off shader, I have owned just 2 production machine brands time machine and pulse, and well they do not even compare. I have used Soba's from everyone and I hate them. Dawn and Roger are the best at what they do and that is keep us real artist happy, you can talk all the shit you want about anyone but lets put some work on the table, I know I have mine.
