Bodysuits

I recently sought a half body suit by my favorite custom tattoo artist who happens to live outside the US in a favorite city I like to visit and have friends in. Unfortunately the artist, whom I will not name out of respect to him, was apparently not interested, would not take the comission nor give a reason why. I don't know if the subject offended him or what. I agreed to his requested rate per hour, so I can't have missed on the price. The part that sucks is although there are many fine artists, there isn't anyone else whose work I like well enough to invest that kind of money & time with. I am sorta shocked, actually, that he wouldn't take the comission considering this artist does a decent amount of interesting large pieces in similar subjects. I don't know what to do because I had my heart set on this artist's style. I hate the idea of going to anyone else almost as much as I hate the idea of not getting the tattoo I want. The whole thing is so confusing - I thought a custom artist would thrill at the chance of a half body suit. It makes no sense to me. How do you get over being rejected as a collector??? Rats!
obviously he doesnt share your view about how cool it would be to hang out with you, and take your money, what was it about the theme or your attitude that pised him off so?
Well I don't think it could be my attitude since I am pretty polite by nature and I never try to be a jerk to anyone especially someone on the business end of a needle. It *could* be the subject I guess since some might find it offensive since it involved large scale figure work (goddesses, demons and cats)...
Sometimes certain artists regard body suits as gang tattoos, many oriental and hispanic gangs use body suits to display there allegiences, honour killings and crimes committed. The body suit was to illustrate you were unwilling to accommodate yourself to societies rules and norms.
