bone black

Hey guys. I have a question maybe some of you could help me with. I wondered if anybody knew exactly how bone black ink is made. I want my first tattoo but would rather not have animal based ink. The artist I talked to uses vegetable based glycerine when he mixes, but he just buys the black. I don't know if it is made from bones or not. I wondered if anybody knows what sort of bones they use. I am not a vegan. I do not eat mammals, but I do eat some meat. Bone based ink from cattle would make me feel guilty while fish bone would not. I understand that probably sounds silly, but I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
