Yeah, you should have a good custom artist design your tattoo. Where do you live?
I have a great picture of his tattoo but not to get your hopes down or anything the koi fish on his arm is just that...one fish not two...give me your email address and Ill send it tot you
check out this site http://www.geocities.com/art_of_incubus/main.html

good luck and greetings thijs
Hey, if you have the "Morning View" cd, its the design on the actual compact disc. On the cd, they're orange and yellow, but he has them in red.
actually...the tattoo is not red...his om mani padme hung hrih tat...and the fish are both done in henna color...
I found the best picture of the exact koi fish on Brandon's arm.

You folks really shouldnt be strait up copying someones tattoo... Im sure brandon doesnt want an army of wannabees getting the same exact tattoo.... Using his piece for inspiring a custom tattoo is one thing, but copying is pretty lame. Make sure you find a real good cusotm artist to do your tattoos so you dont end up on bad tattoos.
I agree with gabe... copying someonelse's tattoo is lame. Granted, his tattoos are awesome, but everyone should be original... try drawing something on your own... that way it's unique to you. You wouldn't want someone to copy one of yours, would you?
Brandon isn't the only one with a sanskrit mantra on his arm. The fish is unique to Brandon, but the text he used is a archaic language. The mantra he used is an extremely popular mantra that many people have been painting, tattooing, and reciting for thousands of years. I would say meaning trumps originality. You can't easily find people to do sanskrit calligraphy for you in the US, much less at a modest price. I don't think it's a bad idea to get his tattoo as long as you truly believe in what it's saying. Thats another story. Good luck.
don't bite that is the lamist thing you can do first find someone how you trust can do alot of work, think, sleves the best tattoos small or large are planed. the first thing is find an artist not some leach happy to scar you for you money the average tattoo cost 10 dollars to do only pay for quality nothing else in the end don't get robbed and get something fly and original one of a kind if you copy you a loser lol
Does anybody understand ANYTHING on that last post?
false
There are several translations to this mantra. I translated it in tattoo form to Hail The Jewel In The Lotus . There is also the translation "with love anything is possible". are there more?
go2 incubus-online-view.com/iframe/artwork3.php its got great zoom and individual pics of all the bands tattoos.
Every one seems to fascinate over Brandons tattoos !!!
Which i agree look attractive.... BUT... .....
His Mantra... often described as Sanskrit, is actually Tibetan, Uchen script... and i am sorry to burst the Boyd bubble.... But a very badly drawn Uchen script.
Who ever designed this did not have an understanding of Tibetan. The last two characters are so over stylised that they would be unrecognisable to a Tibetan eye, not to mention the corruption of the sacred meaning of the mantra.
Seems to me that this meaningful and popular mantra is copied again and again from un-relyable sources. So if you do wish to 'copy' his famous badly drawn mantra, make sure you make the corrections needed, ask an expert like Tashi of www.inkessential.com
Inkessential also has a section for the Mani mantra with a free PDF file down load: http://www.inkessential.com/sacred.html
be aware....
Dan.

all of brandons tattoos are on this page
not all of them are on here . what about the wind catcher on his hip? i cant find it anywhere and thats the one i want the most. can one of you help me?
Ok the mantra doesnt translate into a certain phrase each word means something different, here it is from word to work
Meditation Om
Patience Ma
Discipline Ni
Wisdom Pad
Genorosity me
Dilligence HUm
I had a friend in college who had the sanskrit, he was super into buddhism and philosophy and stuff and i remember he told me the litteral tranlation was "Hail The Jewel In The Lotus", but it pretty much meant a kind of "you are what you strive to be" kind of deal.
In my opinion, don't get anything that wasn't made for you, or you aren't sure exactly what it means, or you'll end up with a tattoo that makes no more sense on you than it did on the person you saw it on.
