Brused Tatto

I got a tatoo at a real dirty place on the reccomendation of a friend. The guy did it quick and it 15 mintues, it didn't really get red , didn't hurt afterwards, but I know I got my last name. Now I have this thing all around the tattoo that looks like a bruse, but it has been there 3 weeks, I tried using rubbing alchol to see if it was ink but it didn't come off and the shop won't call me back. He used a single needle , starilized and black in. Help!

From the mouths of babes. I think this girl needs to get to a hospital and have a few blood tests run. For the major blood viruses, there's a 6 month window and she should get retested then. But for now we're looking at basic blood poisoning, flux poisoning, lead poisoning, alergic reactions, etc. And she'd better go soon! Three weeks is more than enough time for things to get out of hand. And if things are very bad, you might want to give your local health inspector a heads up.

Area 51 & Lillian, if ya notice, I did post what I think the problem is/was and nothing from her post made it seem infected or anywhere near life threatening. Come on now, anyone who gets a tattoo in a place they considered 'dirty' does not really deserve alot of sympathy. April, how do you know the tat was done with a single needle, did you count the set before he built the machine....? Weird because a person that goes to a dirty tattoo shop would not even care regarding the needle set the artist used... Unless you are a scratcher and want to found out what went wrong with your friend that now wants to poke your eyes with a knife...just a thought.. CRAVINK

Lillian, again, if you'd read her original post, she didn't say anything that would indicate any sign of infection, blood poisoning, etc. She stated it didn't get red, which would rule out your suggested need to seek medical intervention. Again, the problem she stated sounds like what is called 'blow out', when the needle is set too deep and the ink is pushed through the skin and into the fluid level beneath, which causes the 'bruised' look she described, which never really disappears and is usually the result of an inexpierienced person. As soon as I can figure out how to post it, I'll put up a pic so people will get an idea of what a 'blow out' is. I'd also like to point out how ill thought out that tattoo sounded and that you'd think anyone with common sense would walk out of a tattoo shop that looked dirty. I'd also like to point out she waited 3 weeks to seek advise, which she did receive I might point out. This is the most unprofessional thread i've read in a long time. People talk so much about how there are so many great artists on this site, and how they are some of the top professionals in this country, and then they go and act like this...the three year olds i took care of didnt even gang up on people like that. Yea, some professionals. Doesn't everyone make mistakes? So this person realized the mistake and is trying to figure out what happened because of it, and all you can do is act like children.

And, you guys need to stop worrying about how other people look, and how YOU look. 51 and Lillian, along with myself, are pointing out that the "professionals" on this forum are acting like ignorant children. Even if someone is stupid, you gotta act in a manor that is respectable.

Fortunately for me, I'm not a professional...................but I'll still never defend stupidity and ignorance.

dear april, sorry you got a bad tattoo but it does sond like he blew out the tattoo and went to deep.I dont want your radio and I dont think you will die but you need to have it looked at by a doctor, sorry about all the wise ass remarks by these so called pros if they were pros they wouldnt act like 2 year olds anyway i had one done by a so called pro and yes the shop was clean and it done the same thing looked like shit after it healed so I coverd it up myself, and no i am not a pro I have been doing tattoos for about 1 year but The people I have done are repeat customers and happy with what i do. hope you get better but next time use a little common sence and good to a good clean place............
