Bull S**t tattoo polotics

Hey Everyone IM sure that you've heard of the Hell City tattoo convention. In my oppinion one of the better shows being put on, profesionally run, and incredibly well put together. Well theres some kinda shitty stuff going on in Ohio that I think people should sorta be made aware of. This is a letter forwarded to me by Durb, the promoter of Hell City. Make up your own mind... JOE Hope Gallery New Haven CT There are always strange politics involved in tattooing...but this is sickening to me and I ask you to just look it over and maybe help the integrity of tattooing a bit. There has been a highlly succesful and well thrown tattoo convention in Columbus, Ohio for the last three years. Maybe some of you have attended and those of you that haven't have missed out. This show is thrown by a very hard working, talented tattoo artists and is geared toward tattoo artist to be the best convention that they can attend by catering to the needs of the patrons and artists. Anyhow this year an overlly competitive studio has decided to throw a convention just a week before the other conventions annual date. The decision to throw this new convention was based on the fact that this "local studio" was not invited to attend the succesful convention. Anyhow...the owner/operator of this other tattoo studio is a a piercer..that owns 2 studios just blocks from each other,He turns out apprentices like it is a college... he also opened another business just a few doors down from the shop that throws the successful convention. He has tanning booths in his tattoo studio. He tears down fliers of competing studios including the fliers of the 3rd annual convention. This studio is a nuisance and it tears away at the integrity of tattooing everyday. We all know that good conventions are hard to find so when someone fucks with the good ones (as if we need more conventions) It is disturbing.....If you are invited to attend a convention in Columbus, OH and it is not HELL CITY .....please be aware what you may be supporting one of the parasites that feed off tattooing to just turn profits and not to produce great tattoos. What a prick. Hell City is one of the nations best tattoo conventions. the quality of the artists and the work Durb and crew put into the convention is enourmous. If Hell City isnt my favorite tattoo convention, its in the top 3. Shame on the shyster who is trying to hyjack their success. I may be able to understand running an alternative convention in a different season, but to pick a date so close to Hell City's annual weekend is unethical. I would also advise all artists and fans to stay away from any tattoo convention in Columbus that is not Hell City. I would strongly all tattoo fans get themselves to Columbus for the Hell City Tattoo Convention. Its outstanding.
