I have two tattoos, one that was done in 2002 and one that was done in 2005. Since it's been getting hotter around here I've noticed several spots on the outlining of my tattoos that have itchy, thick bumps underneath them. This happened last summer also and eventually went away but it seems a bit worse this year. I was wondering if anyone knew what causes this and if there's anything I can do to make them go away summer (the itching is really annoying!!) Thanks for your help!

Same thing happens to me. My dermatologist told me that it is a local allergy from the tattoo that is activated from the heat. She prescribed clobetasol propionate. It worked well for me. Made the itching and bumps go away. It is a steroid ointment. (not recommended for longterm use).
Thanks so much for the help...I'll make an appointment to get it taken care of!
No problem. Let us know how things work out for you :)
