Hello to everyone.
About a month ago, an idea for my second tattoo just popped into my head and has been festering ever since. I am hoping to get the tattoo before I go back to college in a few weeks, but I would like an opinion as to whether or not it is too personal.
A little backstory, I am studying music at a state college, the tattoo that I would like to get is the album cover of the first CD I ever produced for some friends of mine. Its of a bird holding a honeybee. The musician is not the artist of the piece but she did pick the art for her CD. I am just wondering if anyone has been in a situation where they have freaked out their friend, girl/boyfriend, spouse, or child because of a tattoo. Like, if your dad got your baby portrait tattooed on his arm. Or if your friend got a tattoo of something you drew?
The tattoo to me signifies something I love to do, make and produce music. I want to get it to remind myself of that. To remind myself of where I started and of the talented people I get to work with while I am at school. But Im wondering if it would be awkward or if its meaning could be skewed? Any imput or personal experience would be greatly appreciated. :-)
Can a tattoo be too personal?

on stuff like this, I just think it's a bad Idea. I think it's something you are going to grow out of and wish you hadn't done. I get the music part, and maybe that's more what you ought to shoot for. This is JUST MY OPINION. The concept sounds cool, but I dunno... something sounds like it could get a little dated for you. But if you like it go for it. Again, I dunno. What do the rest of you guys think?
I too suggest you give it more thought, the ideas fine in general but I doubt you'll ever forget it if you don't get it tattood on you...Doc
It really depends on the person but for me, I am extremely jealous. If my fiancee had something like that, something that had to do with another girl, i'd be so sad, ESPECIALLY cause its PERMANENT.....you know how Angelina Jolie got her Billy Bob tattoo removed?.....its not quite the same but its the same idea....If you are unsure about it for any reason dont do it or wait 2 months and see if you still want it.......
I don't neccessarily think that it's a bad idea, because it represents a part of your life that is meaningful to you. Talk to the friend who drew it and see what they say, and go from there.
I think that if this was a significant time in your life to get it ...but talk to the friend first and be open with him/her!!
