Can anyone help me out with this? I get a lot of customers coming here for cosmetic facial or perminent make up procedures. I have been told its a different machine and a different ink. But really what's the difference?? Why can't I use a regular tattoo machine and regular tattoo black ink to tattoo eyebrows and such? What's the big deal? I can make so much more money by adding this to my menu.Anyone?
Can perminent make up be done with a tattoo machine?

Why don't you just hire a pro cosmetic tattoo artist and leave the proper tools and preceedured up to them?
It can be done, but it's not appropriate. The handmade "tebori like" technique seems to have a more natural look end result. I am assuming that the control over the skin is greater than a heavy bulky iron tattoo machine or rotary.
Check out Jane Alder's work. She does an amazing work with "tebori like" technique

Hi,
It can be done with anything. It is the artists behind the tools. I have seem beautiful work with all methods and horrible work with all. Many are not able to get what I get with hand tools. It is mastering your chosen method. All good and all bad in the wrong hands.
I am not a big fan of the cheap rotaries or over priced digitals. Go coil or hand tools. However, not with out understanding natural shapes and colors. No more sharpie hoochie brows needed. The colors used for the face are different by tones. One has to understand the theory of sun damage, undertones, over tones of their pigments and the skin.Skin care products too. Too many purple brows walking around too and black lips liners.
Color theory for the face is a different critter and if done properly should be subtle and never ever trendy. The face ages different than ht body too.
Please do not go in blind. Cannot put a shirt or pants over a %)*&% up face. Here are two huge hints. Never use black on browns and never use overly cool tones on the lips. If you use a pretty wine color on certain lip types you will get black. Ick.
Ps. Unless super seasoned, no black ink for eyes it can migrate big time if not respectful of the areas to not be tattooed. Do not tattoo in the face unless you respect it. The little extra money you think you will make will be gone in a flash if you get sued for fucking up faces.
