CARPEL TUNNEL SYNDROME IN ARTIST

Has anyone suffered from carpel tunnel do to tattooing? What have you done to help it?
I haven't so far (knock on wood) but from what I hear from old schoolers, a heavier machine will absorb alot of the vibration which is a contributing factor, and a thicker grip as well. I do have to plug the red rat grip covers as well, its like riding a motorcycle with a rubber mounted motor, feels great.
I heard the same about large grips. The funny thing is that i never use the large grip and had tried one for the first time because of being scared of getting carpal and i jerked my hand up so bad i have severe pain in my hand now.Who knows. All i no is i will stick to what i always do because i never had this before.
Brian- try the Red Rats over the smaller grips, the pain your feeling is the muscles in your hand, not the tendons, they just need to be worked out. It will pay off in the long run, and your hands will adjust sooner than you think. Just like starting to tattoo all over again!
Hey guys, I had surgery two years ago, it took about 6 weeks to use my hand again, it really helped, but it was very painful, (they did do a good job putting my tattoo back together). I've started using the rubber grip covers from pulse, on 1" grips and I love them I've noticed a huge difference, I use to come home Saturdays after 10 straight hours of tattooing and be in aggony. But after surgery, and switching to larger grips, my hands dosen't hurt, just my elbows from streching. PS: for the whole stencil application argument, have you tried Pulses' green soap foamer, 2/3 water, 1/3 green soap, comes out foamy, not runny, (lol) anyway
