Cellulitis

I was just curious about the damage Cellulitis can do to a new tattoo. I got a great piece the other day and ended up with cellulitis. I'm worried about the damage this could do to my art. Any suggestions on how to keep the damage to a minimum? It would be greatly appreciated.
I had cellulitis last year after my last session on my leg sleeve. The affected spot sloughed off in 3 spots. Luckily it only removed skin from the freshly done area and not the already healed part right next to it. I was worried my skin would heal with an indention and scarred. The skin actually healed back to normal and smooth. There was some colorloss but not too bad, my artist still wanted me to enter in a large color contest. The infection occurred on the background shading. I did have it touched up a few months after it was healed. I'm not sure how much damage you will have if the infection is over a detailed part of the design. Keep up with your antibiotics! And good luck.
