Changing peoples minds regarding Tattoos

14 messages · last activity 7/31/2006

I just wanted to relate something that has happened, I am a 43 year old male that has just gotten his first Tattoo, Now when I was 18 I considered it, but couldn't decide, and for me, I am very happy I couldn't decide, Over the last 3 years I have been trying to decide why I wanted a tattoo, and what I really wanted, for me it is a personal decision I have made along time ago just never had the right idea or design, this week I finally found what I wanted and had it done on Friday, My 70 yo mother was upset that I had even considered it, well She came over tonight and I showed her my new Tattoo and when she saw what I had done, and the reason behind it, she started to understand why it was important to me. and when she left she told me that the artist did a really nice job, and it looked good. I have lurked on this board for awhile, and really did research who I wanted to work on me, Your forum helped me with asking the right questions, and what to look for, Thank you all. Blacktri
*sniff, sniff*...heartwarming...
And thanks to your patience and careful consideration, you haven't ended up looking like the back of some old farts motorhome!!! TCE
Dude, agewise and storywise and everything sounds like we are basically the same person!!! We're gonna get along real well..... Al
TCE, Man I had to laugh at that one. Daddy Rose, I have a great admoration for art, and My taste have definatly changed over the years, I am not sure how the Journey Album cover would look on me now at my age:-0, I just finished reading the I am 14 wanting a Tattoo thread, and When I was 18 I knew I wanted an Eagle tattoo'd on my arm, however because I just happened to be extreamly drunk the night my bud's and I went into the Tattoo shop, the old guy at the desk said he wouldn't do a Tattoo on a drunk kid, I wish I could find hum now to thank him, as The eagle while it may have been great work would not really be a part of who I ultimatly became. When my 14 yo daughter came up to me and asked for a tattoo, I said in a parental way OK, Only when you are 18, she is 18 now and still tattoo less, because she is now putting the thought into it. I have a couple of more Tattoo's that I plan on adding as $$ get freed up, but there is time. Blacktri

Blacktri, Great stuff. I was given a gift certificate for my first tat which I sat on for 20 YEARS! Which is probably pretty excessive, but I'm glad I did, cause like you, I would have been stuck with a nice Guns'n Roses cross! I got mine in honor of my daughters this last year when I turned 41, and it's just true. Wait until you are a little ahead in life and you can afford to lay down for something great instead of that $25 Cool tat. right? If you want to see how mine came out, you can check it out at myspace.com/fatherofroses. Good posts!
And just what is wrong with the Journey album cover, may I ask? Hmmm? SP
Out with it! Who did the tattoo??
And we wanna see it man...come on...share the pic...don't be stingy!!!...TAz
Okay, Robert at Love & Hate did the Tattoo, I will take a picture tonight and post it, it is from a flash from John Swope a nice Gargoyle that Robert did his own shading on, I am still very pleased with it after a couple of days. I a, going to have him do a custom piece for me next month. What is wrong with Journey's Cover, Nothing if your a Fourteen year old kid! Blacktri
