Changing The Color of a Tattoo (Cover-Up)

2 messages · last activity 5/1/2006

two days ago I got two star tattoos on the backs of my arms, 1 on one each side...they are black and red basically, i made the wrong decision in picking the color....red just doesnt suit me, it all comes down to personal preference... for the past few weeks, i have been going completely insane, non-stop looking at myself in the mirror, disgusted with the color red... it was a HUGE mistake on my part, initially i had planned to get pale green or a lighter green color...but i went and second guessed myself and ended up with a disappointment... i have considered many things, not taking proper care of my tattoo, drinking after i got it to bleed the ink out, applying more lotion then necessary to take the ink out, i asked my artist and he said that if i were to get it covered, he'd have to make it a DARK green and some red would still show through i went to get a second opinion from another artist and he said that it was very well done and if he tried to cover it up with green, it'd end up looking like brown and he refused to take my money for making my tatty look like shit... and i am now considering purchasing Tat B Gone, ONLY to fade out the red portions of my tattoo and have it covered up by a pale green or the lightest green possible... any suggestions? anything i should know? any other alternatives?
I think that word really needs to get out about this tat b gone product and what a sham it seems to be. They produce no solid research as to its effectivness and i have heard many people say that they have tried to contact this company to get some answers and can't seem to find anyone that can be of any help. Further more, if you look at the website and the pictures they post...they are OBVIOUSLY photoshop altered. All three pictures (before, durring and after) are excatally the same picture. If you take a picture of a tattoo and then take one six months later....it will look very different. Lighting will have changed and so will exposure...not to mention that they are all the EXACT same shot.....same zoom.....same position,...same angle.
