Chinese symbols

I would like to get my moms name translated into a chinese symbol, but since she has a fairly long name i don't want all seven letters tattooed onto my body....i read somewhere that i could actually get the meaning of her name in chinese..it would then come out as one symbol which is exactly what i was looking for...if anyone knows where i could get this done please i really need help here!!!!!
