I got my first tattoo a little over a year ago and it has healed fine and it looks fine (although I think the artist could have done a slightly better job) and I have been thinking about getting this one touched up a bit. I would like to put some color into it (it's all black ink) but I don't know how well it would show up. Is there any chance I could get this touched up with a bit of color, or am I stuck?
Color ink over black?

It can always be hi lited with a colour.
3rd time. There were a few questions like this some time back concerning black tattoos. From what i've seen, the best thing to cover black is more black, whether you're trying to cover it or add on. SOME colors will lay down over the top with out a problem (i.e. darker blues, purples, etc) but try to stay away from whites and yellows and all them. Those will work for a while but are more prone to letting the black show up again later.
Try to find an artist who can do something cool with the black you have instead of try to make a color bomb out of it. Also check out some of the previous posts, there are others out there in the same predicament.
Hope this helps, take care
This is just my opinion as a tattooist, dont bite my head off people!
Oh yeah, granted, if its just a shaded tattoo, you're good. Color all you want. Solid black, not so much
