Comparison of dry heat sterilizers

I brought this up in the studio the other day and it got an interesting reaction. I mentioned the idea of using dry heat vs. autoclaving because of someones post on here. After talking for a while, we all came to this conclusion: In theory, with the way that the dry heat works, it would be possible to use a regular every day stove with the same effects. Provided the stove doesn't have any bacteria, and the heat is consistent. Just wonder what the scratchers will try to do with that. But i just wanted to see what some of you thought about this.

dry heat is good for toast pizza and stuff like that.also most states do not allow them.some bacteria can live way beyond the heat of a dry heat thus a steam clave is best.

yea i know. i brought up the use of dryheat in our shop to see what people would think and thats how they compared it.

The problem with dry heat is that there is no pressure to distroy cells thats why autoclaves are used in the medical field and not dry heat sterilizers some times heat by it self is not enough.

To answer the poster's question: The reason why dry heat sterilizer are not good these days is because they have been proven to fail. Period. Every time a bacteria or virus is discovered we realize that they are stronger, hard to get rid of and can survive under basic method of sterilization. An example MRSA and HEP B they can easily overcome disinfectant and high temperatures. Therefore heat is not just enough to kill them. One of the extra features of the steam autoclave is that they add pressure to the equation. At a certain level pressure, steam sterilizers can make those microscopic agents pop like popcorn. Example: You may not kill a rat with rat poison but I grant you 100% that she'll be dead after an 18 wheeler runs over her. Not only that, water is better conductive of heat than air and can deliver heat right on the surface of the piece getting around the tiniest holes and corners. Taking in consideration of all these issues, any dry heat sterilizer just an electric grill, good for sandwiches and pizza.

I dont need any information from you about sterilization. wtf did i spend upward of 3 years for? i know a dry heat is just a toaster oven ie: comparison of dry heat. meaning comparing it to an oven. there are claims that dry heat is just as effective and thats why i say it is the same as an oven. should i just copy and paste this like fifty fuckin times? thanks for everyones wise and all knowing information of the autoclave, even tho i didnt ask for it.

BTW: forgot to define what i meant by acquisitions. you cant take meaning outside the box. an acquisition is to buy, sell, and/or combine companies for growth. this was in reference to FK. he sells cheap machines, if at all you do cheap tattoos. so this was hinting towards you buying his cheap machines to do your cheap tattoos to increase the volume of both of your 'businesses' dont mix that up with accusations, meaning your accusing me of something. cause that was posted before the repetitive accusing. thought id clear that up since you thought it was cute to put it in quotes like i dont know wtf im talkin about. its nothin new tho is it? another failed attempt.

Alright bro, all insults aside. I never tried to purchase a machine from you. I actually own micky sharpz, which is proof enough because they only sell to lisenced artists or apprentices. Im 27, if you must know. Insults were thrown at me first. Isnt that natural instict to throw back? I wasnt asking a question. In all seriousness, believe it or not, I actually did apprentice and have been tattooing for the last seven years under the same person. I am lisenced and have never done a tattoo out of a home, or before I was given permission. Honestly, wtf is the point of it if no one believes you? If im still a scratcher as you put it, why not just scratch to begin with? what proof of my professional status do you want? You talk shit about my practices and procedures about something I love to do, so it was natural for me to do the same. All insults and shit talk aside, I actually believe your machines have potential. Which you dont need to hear that from me. Look at the post clearly: I never asked which should be used. I could probably tell you more about the autoclave than you know. I use it correctly and regularily. Just remember I never started shit, I went along with it. And as for being fed, right now I dont need it. Im on a weeks vacation, chillin, and enjoyin workin with some of the best people I know. And thats not to say their tattooing ability. Just as general people.

it was close to the end of the second year of my apprentice, and they are very good machines. regardless of what you think. they dont overheat, they dont spark, very smooth, dependable machines. if you could tell your pal FK im willin to squash this shit if he is. as you can tell in my last post.
