Constructive Critisism!!

One great thing as of late is that we're seeing all the artists posting their stuff. One great thing I'm not seeing is the use of constructive critisism. Does one need to be an artist to have a say in what they think of somebody's art? NO. Art is meant to be visually appealing. And the majority of the people viewing that art aren't always going to have a trained eye. So I dont' think it's necessary to "prove" yourself before you comment on somebody's art. I do however feel that it's necessary to have some fucking etiquette while expressing your opinion. I'm seeing a lot of picking going on, and it doesn't seem to be in the hopes of helping the artist, but to get under their skin instead. It's petty. So ya'll say people trying to get into the business should have thick skin...great, I agree with you, HALFway. Are we trying to lower standards here? I'm not going to accept the opinions of somebody being a dick about their critisism, good or not, I don't care, they can fuck off. My standards are higher than that. I'm not going to get on the artist for not accepting the critism well (unless obviously it was done in good taste). All that shows is that the guy/girl doesn't like assholes anymore then the next person. I don't know, just something to chew on guys...with the recent posts I felt that it was a good topic to think about. And in the words of one of our own, lol...D.Rose - "I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness, and greed." Jeremy ;)
AHHH Jeremy as I have said before more than once I think ...you are wise beyond your tears...Thanks pal!...TAz
i don't see the proper spelling of criticism. so there. wee. i dunno. i notice stuff because i'm a person of detail, i know the person doesn't like me already, no one is bringing it up and i just can't help it, yes i am a punk, but i do mean well, for lack of a skill of getting along with people "internet" wise, maybe my critique is taken as criticism? see sir, there is quite a fine line between CRITICISM and CRITIQUE. and apologies for my words being taken as CRITICISM, but do the few details I pointed out change the fact of the actual matter at hand? that is the way i critique i suppose. oh well. i suppose it is "constructive" as a means of action that you take upon hearing a suggestion of your art that makes it constructive no matter if it is the way you want to hear it or not. carry on people. ;)
Damn, the youngster does have a way with words and I'd have to admit, he does have a point. I very recently made a bit of an ass of myself simply by not reading closely enough and thereby taking certain comments wrong and allowing my anger to over power my so-called wisdom. And koochie, I'd suspect part of the 'problem' some of us have with you may well stem from your early 'confession' and I ,for one, have a real hard time understanding that, so naturally, everything else you say is tainted by that and your smart ass attitude although, I must admit, occasionally in your posts there is some valid words (but your delivery usually sucks) Good post Jer
don't see the proper spelling of criticism. so there. wee. i dunno. i notice stuff because i'm a person of detail, i know the person doesn't like me already, no one is bringing it up and i just can't help it, yes i am a punk, but i do mean well, for lack of a skill of getting along with people "internet" wise, maybe my critique is taken as criticism? see sir, there is quite a fine line between CRITICISM and CRITIQUE. and apologies for my words being taken as CRITICISM, but do the few details I pointed out change the fact of the actual matter at hand? that is the way i critique i suppose. oh well. i suppose it is "constructive" as a means of action that you take upon hearing a suggestion of your art that makes it constructive no matter if it is the way you want to hear it or not. I'm not getting on you about the way you notice things, nor for criticizing/critiqueing taz's art. I think it's great that you take the time to notice what you have. I'm also not trying to single you out. It was pretty much directed at everyone. I think you have the capability to not just get along with people here, but to also comment on somebody's art in a much less offensive matter. And that's all I'm getting at. As far as the matter at hand goes, if you wish to attend to it, attend to it directly. That particular thread concerned taz's art, and the opinions of the people viewing it. It did not concern the belief that nobody is willing to stand up to taz. If that is really how you believe, understand that it's merely out of respect...at least on my part. I don't know about other people being "afraid" to critique his art though. I can only speak for myself. And rambling is all that would follow from here on, lol. Jeremy
ack, my apologies for the re post of koochies post...I pasted it as a reference, lol...
People being "afraid" to comment on my work...why? I don't get that at all....makes no sense...I welcome comments always have ...I do however have a problem with internet trolls who are obviously just here to start problems...I'm not the only one to see this...READ folks READ...don't you see whats going on here? Then again ...its really know big deal...there are MANY tattoo forums....
cool. i can respect that jeremy. i'll tone it down.
yeah that reminds me i gotta check out *infiltrate* other forums. toodles

just a joke. pull the stick out slowly....................
Something’s should just be kept within an individuals own thoughts, People aren’t so stupid they need someone else to narrate the obvious.
i disagree with the double standard. thanks for the suggestion though
