I have Qs re: tattoo conventions...I've never been but theres one in November in Richmond, VA. I ask now cuz I'll have to take off work. is one day better than the others? I'm curious but will I offend if I gawk? what should I expect? is it ok to go to one as a collector when my tattoos dont necessarily show...in other words, will I stick out like a sore thumb? I dont think I'd get one *on the spot* but I would like to browse and people-watch
thanks much

I didn't have any tattoos when I went to one and no one stared at me! Everyone was very friendly and it seemed like a lot of people go to watch others get tattooed...so you wouldn't be the only one gawking. I just went to learn a little more and people watch and I had a good time! Go, have fun!

go people watch, have fun, scour portfolios and get business cards! Maybe you won't get one there on a whim but you may find someone to have a future appointment with. So what if your tattoos dont show... i went to one a year ago and a man had a full Horiyoshi III body suit but was covered head to toe in clothing so no one knew, until the contests began.
With that said, remember to be respectful!!! dont lean on people's tables or put your hands all over their flash. Dont interupt an artist, if you must ask them when they are taking a break and wander back.
Lastly DO NOT GRAB AT PEOPLE TO SEE THEIR WORK! Be polite, be respectful, and i am sure others will gladly show you their tattoos. Hope this
[oh yea never say 'bitchin tats brah!']
if your not looking to get work done, Id say go on Friday while everyones fresh. Well, if you were to get tattooed Id say go Friday too. Its way ok if you dont have any tattoos, a convention is a great place to look at lots of different portfolios!
