Cover Up ideas?

I (regretably) have a tat across my stomach that a friend did one drunken night when I was 17, with a homemade gun. Basically it was one of those "I'll do it if you will" type things....anyways, it's the word "hardcore" in block style-letters. The upside is that it was taking too long to fill, so only the first two letters are colored in (black, of course). I now have the $ to go to a pro and get it covered up, but have no idea what to cover it with. I was thinking about a scorpion, and have it's tail go around my side and partially up my back, but that would be huge.... Anyone have any ideas? Can anyone help? I can try to get a pic of it online if requested.... Thanks!!!

Do cover ups generally have to be in black? I've got a small purple om on my shoulderblade and I'd like to have a black and grey tattoo of my own design over it - would that work?

If you find a truely talented custom tattoo artist, then tehy can creativly cover up almost any tattoo. If something is real big and heavy, then a good laser guy can lighten a tattoo to open up your coverup possibilities. A good laser guy is harder to find than a good tattoo artist, though, so be careful. You can check out our coverup tattoos gallery to get some ideas. You need to pick an excellent custom tattoo artist to do a great job, otherwise you'll end up with another future coverup.

Thanks Gabe - I don't think mine should be too hard to cover, its probably about an inch long by an inch wide, and the purple is already slightly faded as its about 10 years old. The design I'd like in its place is about 5 inches by 3 inches.

i have block 666 on my inner left arm above a pentagram that i got done as a rebellious work, i have wanted it covered for a while now but dont know what i could be best with as it is inch high black numbers any ideas?
