cover-up on my back

I have a tribal tat on my lower back and well, I want to cover it up. On a scale of 1-10, how painful is it usually to do a cover up?? Also, how hard is it to cover up an old tat?? I've only had this particular tat a year.

The pain should be the same as the first time however tribal especially big tribal is about the worst thing and hardest thing to cover...Talk to your artist and make damn sure he/she is good or you could end up with a big ol blob!!!!TAz

If you've only had it a year and you already want to cover it up, maybe you should wait a few years and figure out what you really want there so you don't run into the same situation again next year.
