Ok! I know cover ups can be done, but..mine isn't a name, nor a faded tattoo, nor a small one at that. I dont know how to explain it better than, its a faerie on a mushroom on my lower back, it's not huge, but..not small either. Eh..Well, it pretty much looks like a man with boobs and bushy eyebrows. If there is nothing to be done, I dont mind living with it, but I was wondering, if there is anything possible to cover something up like that? I know it may be hard for someone to answer, but I can provide pic if need be..
Either way, thank you for reading!

Absolutely anything can be covered over, sometimes you may still see a faint image beneath the new but thats the way it goes. I am in the process of having my sleeves recovered after 25 + years, I have to go darker this time which I did not mind and have opted for a custom Japanese sleeve design which is evolving as we go along, regarding your fairy tattoo pick something with a bit more thought next time, go to a good Tattooist and he will advise you the best way to cover it up, too many people pick designs off wall flash with out thinking about it deeply.
www.fineartforlife.com has some really good artists, that can do a good job..Will,does solid color work, and craigbeasley.com is really good, and started working there recently..
Look up James Kern. He's a master of the Cover-Up. Wrote a book called " Advanced cover-up for the professional tattooist"...or something like that. He was at No Hope No fear in Chicago, but I think he has moved recently...maybe to Portland? I don't know. Anyway, you would be amazed at what can be done by the right artist. Of course, If you go to someone who isn't that experienced with the "cover-up" you could end up with a big mess.
Good luck.
that's funny because i think i got that same hermaphrodite tattoo on my lower hip, it kind of looks like axel rose. yikes! I don't think there is hope for it unless you put a gigantic darth vader over it. i need a cover up master too!
James kern's website is www.tattoomonster.com
i had a cover up job on my left arm with an egytin it and it looks very cool so take your time and finde one that will fit who you are and what you want.
