Okay i have one of those mud flap girls on my hip that is pink and purple fading and i didnt really put much thought into it and now i want to cover it up wit something. Do i have limits to the colors i use bc the purple is kind of dark? And how long should i wait before getting this covered?
I would find a great cover-up artist that you can travel to and show them the tattoo in person. If you laser the tattoo a bit and lighten it up, your artist will have more options open to them. Make sure you find an amazing custom artist, though. Where do you live? I can probably recommend someone in your area. When you find the right artist, they can transform your piece into something you will be very very happy with. You can check out some photos in our cover up tattoo galleries.
I too have something I would like to have covered. I have been told by 2 artists that the only thing that can cover it is a flower. I havent been given a straight answer on WHY that is the only thing that can cover it. The ones I have looked at on line seem to work as long as the cover piece is large enough to cover the old piece. Is that correct? Any reccommendations of a cover up "specialist" in Jacksonville?
I believe 3x the size of the original is a rule of thumb for covering up old work. Without seeing the tattoo its hard to tell. Worst case a little lasering can lighten the tattoo and then it'll be easier to cover. I dont know anyone in the jacksonville area, how far are you willing to drive?
www.inksmithtattoo.com Has plenty of good tattooers.i think Nick Wagner,or Mike Wilson would do a good cover-up.And check out Kimberly Wells,at Cherry Bomb Ink,in ST.Augustine,at [904]823-9805 She does some nice work.
Would love the name of a great cover up artist in MA or RI.. I have a butterfly that looks like a dead horsefly .. it's so gross..
