Can any tattoo be completely covered??
i could be wrong here, but yes i think so. i know my brother had his first tattoo covered up -- you can't even tell that there's another tattoo under the new piece of art. i do think it might depend on what you want to cover it up with though... for example, if you a tattoo of Peppy LePew, and you want to cover it up with Tweety bird, I don't think it'll work -- lights on top of darks... but i could be wrong.. do you know what the best thing to do is????? GO TO AN ARTIST/SHOP and ASK. they'll tell you if you've a chance or if you're shit outta luck.
Bee, you are catching on girl!!! ... To follow up with what Bee started, the first mistake that everyone makes is believing that anything can be covered with (everyone) TRIBAL.... FURNT! That is not the end-all-cure-all! Second, the more flowing lines or broken lines... what the fuck am I trying to say here?.... You don't want anything with straight horizontal or straight verical lines because that doesn't help the new tattoo "cover" the old image. Thirdly, some tattoos simply HAVE to have some lazzzzzer work to fade the old tattoo out....But my God there are thousands of other things that we could get into but those are the very basic things.... (my opinion)....J
Yes,Bee, that was indeed an excellent post/answer and J-Werk, your follow up pretty well covers the rest (Good job, son), now 'none', the proper thing would be to follow Bee's suggestion and start going to some GOOD shops/studios and get their opinions. Note I said GOOD shops/studios, see some of their work, particularily their cover-up work as doing a Good cover-up is almost an art in itself and if you're not careful you could end up with something you're even less happy with and do not allow price to be your main concern, what ya got ain't going anywhere so save up if neccessary, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, so to speak!..Doc
The thing is, its rather large, and its up on my shoulder area, its outlines and grey shading, no color. But its part of a tattoo that does infact have color. I started the tattoo and it didn't feel complete so, I decided to add more to it, and then went somewhere else to complete it, and I feel like i don't know what i've gotten myself into in the first place. It started off as a birthday gift so I almost felt like I needed to get something done, and I didn't put much thought into it, and the tattoos are still rather fresh.. I'm very dissapointed in the situation.. And more so at the amount of money put into it.. and the lack of money I have to fix it.. Because I do not think I could afford any type of lasering. So my only option is to save up some more money and possible cover it up..
Ah my dear friend "None".... Two bulls were looking over a herd of female cow. The bull says to the old bull, "Let's run down and fuck us one!" And the Old bull replies, "No my boy, let's walk down and fuck all of 'em." .... Same goes in the tattoo world... "THINK BEFORE YOU INK." But i am not casting stones at you, so please don't think that I am poking fun. You are not the first person in this situation and will definitley not be the last. SO rest your head alittle easier with that thought. Depending on how "fresh" the tattoo is you could simply not take care of it.... Fuck did I just say that?.... Afterall, that awould definitely insure that the tattoo would truely turn out horribly, ie, faded lines, shading, sometimes scabbing and completely falling out....OR... You could take care of the tattoo as the artist instructed you to and then save your money and find a GOOD artist to work with. In the meantime, although you may not be as happy with your tattoo as you would like to be, but at least you won't be walking around with some random faded, splotchy, spunk on your arm.... God and then again it is soooooo hard to sling out the advice without seening your tattoo....J
