Covering tribal work

I have seen a few pieces of black linework that have been covered by colour work and alot of india ink tattoos that have exellent covering, but I am yet to see any thick/solid black that has been covered up. Is it possible to cover old tribal/thick black work without just blacking it out? Also if it is possible does anyone know of a sight with some good examples?

Go to www.hyperspace studios.com...my friend guy aitchison has some coverups like you are talking about on that site...or at least he did the last time I was on there....Tribal tattoos are an artists nightmare to cover up and it takes a lot of skill to do so without the wrk ending up looking like a big fuggin blob...but it CAN be did!!!!TAz
