Critical Tattoo CX-2 power supply

Has any one seen these guys? www.criticaltattoo.com seems like they are stepping up the game with power supplys, machines are looking pretty clean as well
I just recently became aware of these power supplies they do look sweet. Has anyone ever used one?
i have never used one. but i am thinking about buying one. the mounting brackets and its small size make it look apealing. still waiting to talk with someone who has tried it out.
i'm buying one when the slow season is over.
I bought one today, I'll post whether it's good or not.
I like the iPod/Eikon looking one. I am assuming those arrows are to regulate the voltage.
i have been using one for close to a year now...after having owned the ems 300 and have to say that i like my critical more and it is out of the way and not clunky very nice and precise when tuning also...they told me when i bought it (on the phone) that ciferri uses one to tune his machines as well...
yea i have the cx2 from critical i have been use in mine almost daily since i got it (about 4 months ago)and i have to say its great i realy love mine you can set it up in 2 ,4 , and 6 machine modes and it has a stop watch which is cool (even though i dont charge buy the hour) one of the main things i like about it is that its easy to clean and bag and makes my machines run great in my opinion its well worth the $300 price tag
I second victor and matt. I've been having very baaaad luck with power supplies stations lately. I just picked up the CX-2 last week, but it already seems great in all respects, and tidy (you can slap a sheet of blue film on it or put a machine bag over it) There's no risk of mucking it up by flipping the off switch while still gloved up because it doesn't have an off switch. It powers down after half hour on non-use and powers up when you hit the foot switch. I'm not sure about the STL setting. It tells you in percentage how cleanly your contacts are closing and breaking during a cycle, but I'm not sure how to interpret the numbers. The stop watch is probably useful for folks who charge by the hour...but it's interesting to see exactly how long your customer is under the needle even if you don't. Oh, and it looks like a small taxi meter.
Hey there I have currently changed to using the neo tat rotary machines, Has anyone used the Critical CX@ power supply with these, and if so how did you find it. I need to get a need power supply asap, but trying to find a decent one that works well with my machines is the difference.
It sounds good, and I won't argue with anyone who has one and likes it. I like things rudimentary. There are some amazing electronics out there, but everything from cell phones to GPS s to stereos..... unreliable in the long term and impossible (by design) to fix. When I can have something with a knob, I take it! (I still have the stereo I bought in 1976 and I will match it up against any Chinese crap out there)
I got aCX-2 about a month ago, for the ability to have the technical readouts for the reviews of machines i am doing for tattoomachinesnow.com. from the second i plugged in i loved the thing...super precise, super smooth power with all the data a tech nerd could hope for. having the ability to have 2 liner setups and 2 shader setups is great...just hold the L or S button for a second and it switchesover to preset volotages...another cool feature is if you hold the button for even longer a -C comes behind you liner1 or liner 2 and that makes it continuous ...just press on the footswitch once and zap....its going even without your foot on it....not to mention the built in timer ....man i love this thing... well worth the $300 proce tag! br
I've been using it for about a year and a half. It's perfect! One more thing I don't have to worry about! No complaints.
I have been using the Critical for a couple of months now with no complaints. Aside from a consitant supply of power the critical has alot of cool features that might interest you. switching from monitary to consistent power ( take foot of switch machine still runs) is nice. Presets, clock/stop watch. My favorite is that there is no external power switch. walk away from your power supply, it turns off after a half hour of no use. click over foot switch when its time to work again and she fires up. Also this thing has an unlimited amount of mounting options. Its nice to have it mounted and up offf of my work area and the flat screen is easy to wrap with plastic to keep things from cross contaminating. The one thing that I havent figured out on this supply is the STL. Im used to eikon readouts and FT. Critical has replaced FT with STL% and Im not sure what a perfect readout should be. I tuned one of my liners on an eikon then took it to the critical to see what the STL reading would be when its perfectly tuned, but duty, volts, amps all read slightly differant on the critical. So if anyone reading this has more exp. with the critical and knows STL and could give feed back please do
CX2-R. Wireless foot switch cool idea but unreliable better have an extra clip cord around plus hesitation when removing foot from foot switch power supply hesitates a second or two before shutting off. Power supply itself, Awesome!! Do not remove power cord from power supply this will result in the wireless foot switch sync abilities and it will run the battery down. Then you have to replace the battery or send it back to Critical for a software update. Critical use to just ship another one and you would just replace it and send the old one back to them. No more, evidently people weren't sending the old ones back so now the rest of us have to pay the piper!! I would recommend the CX2 but don't get the wireless foot switch. It's a wasted $75.00!!! Vary disappointed in Criticals customer service on this issue especially since I have 9 artist who work for me and I was buying 9 more of these, one for each artist and I was recommending them to everyone. Not anymore.
