I know that cutback shader runs a lot like a liner, but what is the difference when it comes to parts of the machine? If this is too technical pleae email me... Thanks!

None. Cutback shader is just a fast shader, short top spring or conventional spring with contact screw snapping in the middle of the top spring, little backs pring compression.

Yeah the man knows his thing, but what works for him may not work for others.
I agree and disagree with some of his theories. But again it's the artist not the gear or specific setup. I read somewhere that Guy A. uses his liners tuned as shaders. Just another perspective to lining/shading.

True... My mentor, uses spaulding for his liner (he use aaron & micky for shader). but men, u're exactly right, it's not the machine it's the artist.
