DADDY ROSE'S NEW TAT IDEA...

Chime in on what you guys think... For my third tat idea (taz may be able to tell you about my no. 2) I've been considering a second shoulder piece, and this would be the idea. It's about never backing down, and never giving up. Staying tough, and daring anyone to try to take it (life) from ya. So the idea is to have this eternal battle of a cobra and a mongoose, all woven together, hookin' it out, and the twist is that everyone knows the mongoose is supposed to win, but in this image the Cobra is doin' just fine... (I like snakes) In fact, maybe you can't tell who is gonna win, but it would have a banner all twisted up in the fight with them that says something like: 1. I will not go quietly 2. or It's a good day to die 3. or "Overcome" or 4. Not you, not today or something like that... in a way it's a little bit of a twist off of the old "Defiance" theme. Was kind of thinking of doing it maybe sort of "Biker-old school" with hot rod flames in the backround of the fight, or something like that?? Anyway, all comments positive or negative are appreciated, especially if you can come up with something really good for the banner to say.... Thanks Y'all! Al

Great possibilities...I would reconsider the Biker old school thing what you alredy have has a definate oriental feel ...It could work Idunno...I'd just have to get it on paper and see.. I would suggest an ultra realistic style with realistic flames as a background...can't access the link tho!...T

Dang. I think you are right. I really like my current tat... Is that oriental semi-traditional? I don't know. I'd like it to sort of work with that one. Anyway, just an idea right now at this point. What would you put in the banner Tazman??

I like... "I won't go quietly" (I believe that's what you had). Tootsweet I love that poem...it really reminds me of my work in hospice. DaddyRose I think your idea is a good one. It reminds me of what I've learned from all of those people nearing the end of life. Some of them fought death to the very end...they weren't very happy as all they thought about was death. Some, sadly much fewer, embraced life when in the clutches of death....these people were exponentially happier. So I guess, my thought on your tattoo is which one do you want to express, what message do you want to get across...if either. Are you fighting for life, or against death? I could just be off base and reading your idea a different way. Either way it seems like it will be a really interesting tattoo. Good luck with it! Dana Z

Hey Dana! Thanks for the post, and Toots, thanks for the poem! That's awesome! I thing what I really want it to say is sort of like "Devil, pour me another shot" meaning, I've gone through a lot of shit in my life, but the struggle is how you know you are alive. Kinda like, "thank you very much, may I have another". Perserverance. Sort of like, no matter what life throws at me, I will not back down, and will not go quietly. That's what I like about me. I've been told I many not make it more times than I can count, and I'm still here. I'm one tough son of a bitch, and would like to honor that about myself. That's why I like the cobra takin' out the mongoose, cause it's sort of like the snake saying "Is that all you got? I'll take your best shot!" Does that make sense? It's not an angry thing at all, it's more like I'm happy to be alive and here for the fight because there are so many who can't, and I'm not gonna let go of it till the last second. Maybe the banner should just say "Bring it on". I dunno...

As Viktor Frankl said...we find meaning through suffering. The ones who make it through are the ones who have something to live for, something to get them through the suffering. I think it sounds like you have that down.
