disposable tubes

anyone have any experience with disposable tubes? i might start at a shop soon where the owner insists on them, as a further precaution against cross-contamination. are they worth a damn? is the weight difference really noticeable? thanks, james
I was myself pretty against them in the begining. But Julio from our studio started using them on the road and came back singing praises. When ever I go out on the road I use Nylon gripped tubes to cut down on my gear boxes weight. So trying something that may be even lighter was something I was most interested in. All in all I was very surprised by how comfortable they felt in my hand, and the idea of not going home with dirty tubes was all the help I needed in making up my mind. While I do not use these types of tube at home on the road they are quite good. Also the Idea to help cut down on cross contamination seems a bit weird. Folowing standard universal precautions really should suffice. But each to his own... J.Capobianco www.hopegallerytattoo.com
i'm working with disposable tubes an i think they are good they are light but i didn't notice big diference in hand and you don't have to clean them just throw it away
I noticed a big difference at first when I borrowed some from a co-worker (well, given some, I should say), my hand got real sore from gripping it too tight, but it felt flimsy. It was a smaller diameter, but I ordered some for myself and I got the 1" thick ones to help make up for the weight difference, and it was a big help. I ordered from TTS and they were only about 50 cents each in bulk. The only downfall is that I noticed about 3 out of 100 of the mag tips had a tiny bit of a plastic shard coming off of it, not properly filed at the factory. So just keep your eyes open before using it on some poor guy getting 3 hours worth of fill!
