Drawing Flash

Hi, I'm new to this forum and just wanted see what good brands(color pencils, markers, etc.) to use for designing flash art. I've recently started to practice drawing flash tattoos. I use Prismacolor colored pencils, but everytime I apply them on my designs, they seem to come out too choppy(not smooth at all). Does anyone also have any recommendations as to how a flash artist would achieve a more smooth blended design using colored pencils? Thanks in advance..
Prismacolors are the ones I use, Don't be afraid to press on them a bit, but don't break them as well. Use Vellum paper as well. Experiment on scrap papers for blending techniques, as everyones technique varies. Try gently shading with one color, then going over it with another color a bit bolder, etc. Good Luck!
man....to get some good blending with prismacolors....try this... i do all of my color work with prismacolor watercolor pencils and then i use a prismacolor clear blender on it. it smooths out the colors and makes it a bit more consistent, the only drawback i've found is that the blending marker gets clogged real easy, and then it's pretty much useless. the best thing for that is to use a small razor and shave off the layer of buildup everyonce in a while. hopefully this'll help, nowadays i'm just about completely digital, it's just easier, and there is no cleanup.......not to mention no more supply cost.it's kind of expensive to get started, but after a while, it makes up for itself cheers Matt Henegar
Try using a "paper stump" its like a pencil wound out of paper. You can find them at any art store. Good luck Mario
