dying to ink

hey fergs here; look i know every one wnats to be a tattoo artist, but not everyone is talented. i have always wanted to be a tattoo artist (blah blah blah life story) i consider myself to be a talented inividual. my art is better than 99.9% of the flash i have seen and i go to college for animation. so why is it i cant get an aprentenceship? is it harder for me because iam a girl? i have tattoo! are all the wankers getiing in the way of my spendor? or maybe its the tattoo studios in ottawa that are the problem. what ever it is its driving me crazy. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Yah, I think it's more of a challenge for chicks in the industry. It's all been said before.......we are either shop twinkies, sleepin' with the teacher or held back by a guy who's fearful of our talent OR try this formula.... Find people in the tattooing community (men and women) who you respect. Seek them out, develop a friendship based on values. Ask their advice. Prove to these professionals that you take it all very seriously. Go to conventions, take courses and learn as much as you can. And last of all, have patience. I'm hoping it will work for me.
